Shadowdancer (is my ninja name)-[Kenny:] wrote: "Write, Read, Music, Volleyball wrote: ""Well, atleast I'm not dead yet so thats a bonus." Emmy chuckled silently.""Same," Salem smiled, not able to join in Emmy's 'mirth'."
Emmy closed her eyes and lisened to the room.
Bellie the Squirrelly Girl wrote: "((Rawr.))
Elly smiled at Rife. "So... I guess I should go talk to Sean. Rife, thank you... for caring."
Gibbs looked at Ellis, waiting.
Sean smiled at Gibbs, then got up and went to his room."
Rife nodded at her
"You're welcome."
Emmy looked up instantly"Salem... I wouldn't do that in here.."
The Shadow Woman appeared again if only to annoy them more.
"She's right. YOu don't know what sort of THINGSyou could bring to you with that song of ours."
"Do what?" she asked, having not noticed what song she'd started. "Things?" Shoot, I hummed the damned Shadow song didn't I?
The woman laughed a low and supprisingly musical laugh. It bounced around the room"Yes you were, couldn't help it?"
Emmy had gone still, like she was tensing for someone to strike her.
The woman smiled, showing pointed teeth, it was a scary sight yet it just made the woman more bautiful. With her ink black hair that moved of its own accord and bright silver eyes that glinted like the blade of a knife as it arched through the air and into its next victim. "It just means you are ours."
Emmy's eyes widened and she jumped up rage flaring.
THe woman's smile didn't falter"Actually Salem, yes."
Emmy gaped, her eyes flashing, drawing ther womans attention back to her
"And you Emmiline. You are our greatest acheivement."
"NO I'm not one of you. " Emmy shook her head
"What do you think you are? You are not a Lyr, and if you're not a Shadow. Well what are you then?"
"HOw do you know I'm not a Lyr? I was born a Lyr. I manipulate fire. Or have you forgotten?"
The woman sighed her patience was wearing thin Emmy noted
"Yes, you are tchnically a Lyr. One of the awaited Marked ones." The woman paused and rolled her eyes
"But you have this false petense of control over your gift. Have you ever wondered what happens when you break that barrier? When you tap into the power you presume you can control?"
Emmy just stared.
Salem didn't like the fact that the creepily beautful Shadow woman knew who she was. She listened in rapt interest as she spoke, trying to look bored and disinterested in the meantime.
The Shadow turne to Salem"Tell her. What she did to Ellis's little sister, what she's doing to Patrik. Tell her, Salem tell her." She waved a hnd towards Emmy
"I've never done anything to Patrik." Emmy breathed, it felt as if every word this woman spoke was like a stab at her very soul.
"I always know when she gets like that." The woman shruggedEmmy had fallen against the wall, looking defeated.
The woman compelled Salem to tell her.
Salem frowned. "You killed Lilac, Em." she didn't want to say anything about Patrik, he wouldn't want her to.
he woman knew all about Patrik and intended for Emmy to know, whether Salem wanted to tell or not."All of it Salem, don't sugar coat it."
"What more could I have done than kill her?" Emmy asked her disparingly
"I don't care. She will know whether you willingly give up the information or not." Shadow said softly and pursuasivelyEmmy looked up at Salem
"Just tell me. Don't make this any harder than it needs to be."
Salem pursed her lips. "I don't know how to explain it. Patrik is- he's.."((how should I explain this? I do plan on having Salem do it))
((THank god! I wanted Salem to explain. and just do it however you think would be right for Salem to say. I'm not picky. maybe have her send Emmy the memory? or just say the thing he told Salem...?))Emmy looked at Salem, fear genuinely seeded there.
"He's what Salem...?"
The woman smiled again and watched.
She sighed. "You know what? I suck at talking." Salem, despite Emmy's warning earlier, sent the memory of hers and Patrik's conversation.
Emmy closed her eyes and after a second of sitting through it she tensed. Going rigid all over, as if Salem had electrocuted her instead of sending te memory. Emmy bit her lip, drawing blood."Stop Salem." she breathed through the emmotional agony
The woman's eyes flicked to Emmy making sure Salem couldn't stop the memory ort take it bc in any way.
Emmy put her face in her hands"I can't-" the tattoos wrapping her right arm glowed silver instantly.
The Shadow smiled again "It's not me or you evidently. Its the room. Shadow fire, that little memory just pushed her over the edge. Watch. She can't do anything about it now."And she was right, Emmy couldn't do anything about it. It was just an emmotional overload, too many thongs in her head at once. There was nothing that could be don, Patrik was the only one that could help her, and he wan't here.
"I meant the memory. And I don't want to watch." she said furiously, deadly calm though her body wanted to fight.
"Oh I have no control over that." She said with a shrug. Emmy's hands knotted in her hair, copper strands flowing over her fingers. She would not, under any circumstances loose herself. She wouldn't, she couldn't.
Salem placed a cool hand on Emmy's shoulder. "It's okay Emmy.. you can do this," she said soothingly. Vaguely she remembered how in Carindae the Shadow song had helped, but she wasn't sure how it would work here in the Shadow dimension. Salem didn't want to risk anything.
Emmy's skin was blazing to the touch, she shuddered a little under Salem's hand."I wouldn't stan so close.." Mused the Shadow
Salem shot the Shadow a glance. "I really don't care what you would do." She turned back to her friend. "Emmy, remember that time.."
The shuddering wouldn't stop but the grip on her hair loosened minutely."She could kill you accedently.."
She blocked out the Shadow, talking to Emmy about the smallest things; Avery, Blaze and Liv's blossoming relationship, the beauty of their two worlds, anything but their current situation.
Emmy drank in every word, but no matter who Salem was talking about the immage in her mind remained the same. Patrik, the way his hair flopped into his eyes when he bent down to kiss her that morning, the way his voice sounded in her ear as he whispered her name as if it was a lullaby.
"Everything I do is for him." She breathed.THe shuddering subsided and her eyes slid closed, she fell back into the wall limply.
"Thanks Salem."
"Don't mention it," she said, her body relaxing as she allowed herself to sit. Salem looked at the Shadow, "Happy now? Or did we ruin your fun?"
"There is more fun to be had. Look at her." The Shadow nodded at Emmy. She was right, there wa more Shadow 'fun' to be had. More of Emmy's tattoos had turned sliver but not enough apparently.
"I could easily take Emmiline's. Though she will need every ounce of strength she has. Thank you for the entertainment." And with that she vanished.Emmy was staring at the wall.
Emmy dragged her eyes over to Salem, she was so far beyond tired"It's alright, you don't have anything to be sorry for." she sighed "I'm the one that should be apologizing."
"She would have made sure I did, Salem. Don't worry aout it." Emmy said streatching one leg out resting her elbow on the other.
