He smiled a little wider. "Not at all."

"Thanks. I would say I try, but... I don't." He smiled. "May I meet Avery? I haven't yet..."
He stood and followed her. "Thanks."
Sean winced slightly, but smiled.

He chuckled quietly. "She's so beautiful."

((ahaha. sorry that's just a weird thing for her to say, cause Avery was a preemie and is still very teeny))
((Awww. XD))
Sean smiled sadly, remembering when Fiona was a newborn. "I remember when my little sister was that size..."
Sean smiled sadly, remembering when Fiona was a newborn. "I remember when my little sister was that size..."
"Ten," he said immediately. "And I've missed four of her birthdays. Cobra has her."
"I think so. Dad's there, too, so he can be with her. I was able to see her a couple days ago, before we came here." He smiled slightly as he remembered. "She was so happy to see me."
He nodded. "Yeah. I'm really glad. She's such a sweetheart. I was glad to see that they hadn't hardened her. She's still a sweet, innocent little girl."
((Gtg now!))
((Gtg now!))

"Hopefully- hopefully she estays that way," Teeghan smiled again. "Do you want to hold Avery?"
((I'm back for a bit, but I'll be disappearing soon.))
Sean nodded. "I'd love to." He smiled.
Sean nodded. "I'd love to." He smiled.
He cradled her carefully in his arms and looked down at her, smiling. "Hi, beautiful girl..." He murmured, carefully shifting her to one arm so he could softly stroke her cheek.
Sean smiled and touched her hand, slowly rocking her back and forth.

Teeghan put her finger to her lips and ducked out of the room to get something.
Smiling tenderly, Sean continued to rock Avery, humming softly to her.
Sean continued rocking her, and humming, and tears came to his eyes as he felt a pang of longing, longing to hold his little sister in his arms again. And that longing brought with it another, a fierce desire to have his Salem back with him. He let the tears trickle down his cheeks, but he smiled at Avery and began to sing softly to her.
"Someone's in the backyard banging on the door
Daddy's gone away, he's coming back no more
His baby's curled up on a stranger's floor
Momma's thinking family dinners weren't too much to ask for
Everybody here's got a story to tell
Everybody's been through their own hell
There's nothing too special about getting hurt
But getting over it, that takes the work
One way or the other we'll all need each other
Nothing's gonna turn out the way you thought it would
Friends and lovers, don't you duck and cover
Cause everything comes out the way it should
Blessed are the humble, blessed are the meek
Blessed are the hungry, blessed are the weak
Blessed are the ones on the other side
And blessed are we just for being alive
One day I stopped wanting anything at all
The heavens opened up like a waterfall
No use in worrying about when it ends
Just for now be thankful for what I get
One way or another a man's gonna suffer
Makes no difference the way you wanted it
But friends and lovers, don't you duck and cover
Cause everything comes out the way it should in the end
Seems like life is a palindrome
Cry when you die, cry when you're born
In between it's all about the ups and downs
Add them all together, they'll cancel each other out
One way or another, one way or another
You won't get what you wanted, but you'll get enough for sure
One way or another, the winter pays for the summer
Won't get what you wanted, but what you got'll be good
Someone's in the backyard banging on the door
Daddy's gone away, he's coming back no more
His baby's curled up on a stranger's floor
Momma's thinking happy endings weren't too much to ask for..."

Teeghan stood in the doorway now, hand over her mouth and tears in her eyes, not yet fallen. The scene was adorable and heartwrenching at the same time: Sean, holding her daughter with such ease and a posture that spoke of a deep sense of caring.
((Yeah. One of my favorites to sing whenever I'm sad.))
Sean looked down at Avery and smiled as he finished the song. "You'll have a happy ending with your mama, I'm sure," He whispered.

Her little fingers tightened around his, the pressure barely more than a feather.
Teeghan stepped in.
((Duck and Cover))
Sean looked up. "She's asleep," He murmured. "Do you want to take her? I'm afraid she'll wake and want her mama."

((Okay. It's by Glen Phillips, of course. All my favorites are. XD))
He smiled. "I guess I'm stuck with her for a while, then. Not that I mind, of course. She's such a doll."
He smiled. "I guess I'm stuck with her for a while, then. Not that I mind, of course. She's such a doll."

"A doll," she echoed his words, a hint of a smile making its way into the words. "Indeed."
He chuckled. "She already has me falling in love with her. I just might steal her away," he teased.
He laughed quietly. "I'm glad we're sticking together then. You've got yourself a babysitter, whenever you need one."
((Sorry I disappeared. Are you feeling better today?))
Sean smiled. "You're welcome. I don't think anyone could not love her."
Sean smiled. "You're welcome. I don't think anyone could not love her."

She shrugged. "You never know," and with her words her eyes darkened.
((Yay! *claps**hugs*))
He nodded and looked down at Avery. "Yes, I suppose you're right. But I think she'll be a strong girl; no-one can hurt her. Besides, she has her mama to take care of her." He smiled at Teeghan. "And all her friends."

At his words Teeghan relaxed again. "Darn straight! She'll be the toughest little peanut ever. And with all of us," she smiled contentedly. "Yeah."
((I wanna put a dog in here! Can I, can I? Can Sean adopt a dog?))
"Absolutely," he agreed, smiling.
"Absolutely," he agreed, smiling.
Sean looked out the window and saw an adorable shaggy little dog. He cocked his head. "Look at that dog," He said. "All alone without an owner... poor thing."
He laughed quietly and looked down at Avery. "Um... do you want to take her so I can see if I can call it in? Or do you want to go get it?"
((This is the dog: http://belliesnook.blogspot.com/2010/...))
He smiled and carefully pulled his finger out of Avery's grasp and handed her to Teeghan. "I'll go see if I can get him."
((Gtg for a minute, brb. Gotta check the laundry.))
