((I'm leaving to go to the park at two... so I'll leave at the same time you do. XD Are you here now?))
Sean sighed quietly. "I apologize. I... guess I should stop that, shouldn't I?"
Lizzie's eyes softened, as she saw Shadow doing almost the same thing she had done, two years ago. She told herself that she would try to be more sympathetic to Shadow. But no, she couldn't, she couldn't make friends with these people just to end up betraying them. It would be better to stay distant.

((Well... not much. The Shadows will be here any minute, but Kenny was waiting for you, I think. So we've been chatting and stuff. XD Lizzie and Sean got mad... and I have a question. So, Lizzie has this power to take powers away, and she's special, like she's open to gifts, they affect her more, somehow, and people with gifts are kind of attracted to her. And I'm thinking maybe this causes the Shadows to ignore her and leave her alone? Is that okay? Oh, and Kenny won't be back until tomorrow; she's at a b-day party.))
((XD So's Shadow... XD And Sean is, too, right now, because he just found out that what he'd felt for her two years ago wasn't real.))
((Not automatically. She has to focus on it, and they can fight against it. And she can sense people who are gifted and people who are like her.))
((Yeah. It takes a while and a lot of concentration, but they can. It's temporary anyway; it wears her out.))

((I was kind of thinking something like that. That she's like Rogue from X-Men, you know? But she doesn't have to touch them. Not sure about them using her power... it would be hard, I think, if they could.))
((Yeah. That was my original idea.))
((Okay. Maybe it's just boys, then. Usually.))

Sean sighed quietly. "I apologize. I... guess I should stop that, shouldn't I?"
Lizzie's ey..."
Shadow sighed and spoke softly to Sean. "No, it's just me."
Sean bit his lip. "Shadow... can you tell me what's bothering you? Please?"
He sighed. "Okay. Then, can you tell me what I can do? I can hug you, sometimes, if I ask first, but I can't hold your hand or kiss you, and if I tell you that I love you, you cry. I don't understand it! Should I just not touch you at all, not show any kind of affection towards you at all?"
His face softened. "Don't be sorry. I just want to know what's okay. I didn't mean to get frustrated." He lifted a hand to brush the tear away, but pulled back.

He smiled sadly at her. "I just want to be able to touch you without upsetting you. Can I hug you now?"
Taking a deep breath, he nodded, deciding that he hated secrets. "Care to explain?" He asked, trying to hold back the hurt and frustration in his voice.
"I guess that means no. Okay." He closed his eyes and blocked her from his head, not wanting her to hear the anger boiling inside of him. He didn't want to feel it, much less make her hear it. He took another deep breath and let it out with a sigh.
He opened his eyes and looked at her. "I... not really. Secrets hurt, though. And hurt causes... unwanted feelings. They aren't real."
"That means it's a secret. You're keeping it secret, aren't you? Shadow, I- I'm in love with you, I am, and it's hard not to touch you! I want to make you feel better, I want to comfort you, and you- you won't let me for whatever reason, and it hurts!" He was whispering, his eyes filling with tears that he brushed away impatiently. "And while I'm complaining about that, I'm hurting you and I can't do anything to make you feel better... I can't brush away your tears, can't hold your hand, or stroke your cheek... and I'm wondering what the reason is for all this hurting."

He shook his head and looked at her crying face, and he raised his hand again, and stroked her cheek, brushing the tears away, not caring what would happen. "I want to stop the hurting now."
"No," He said softly, "You can't stop me." He leaned in and kissed her forehead.
He pulled back slightly and cupped her face gently in his hands, touching his forehead to hers. "What?"
He stroked her cheek. "Can I kiss you?"
He nodded. "Okay." He kissed each of her eyelids, gently, softly, barely touching. One of his hands left her cheek to take her hand in his own.
He stroked a strand of hair out of her face and opened his eyes to look at her, letting the block in his mind fade away. He smiled slightly, looking down at her beautiful face.
