Before asking on our main librarian forum we had a disscussion in our "Poland" group. I've been frequently asked to add new books of Masnavi written by Rumi. As you probably know, this poem has been divided and published as a set of 6 books (Most of foregin editions). It has turned out that polish publisher decided to do it differently. Each book of the original poem is additionaly divided in 4 - so we will end up with 24 small books (around 180 -203 pages). (And from my publisher friend I know there will be some other books of other authors printed the same way).

We would like to know how we should add it to Goodreads library. Should we go directly according to our Manual or do some other serie numbers like " (#1 Vol. 1), (#1 Vol.2)" ?
We will appreciate all advices, so thank you in advance.

lethe | 16359 comments They should not be combined with the existing editions, because they are divided into more parts.

For series numbering, you could do " #1 pt. 1, #1 pt. 2 ", etc. Not in brackets, because that would make a strange series name :)

lethe | 16359 comments I have separated Book 1 part 1 from the complete Book 1 and added a librarian note to both parts, which is visible on the combine page.

You can choose the separate tool on the 'all editions' page (top right hand corner), or on the combine page. You can click on the 'separate' link next to the title if you only need to separate one edition (as in this case), or on the separate tool if you need to separate more than one edition and want to combine them under a new heading.

Hope I explained this clearly! :/
