Taryn (taryngilliland) Ugh, so difficult. Playstation 2 has a lot of RPGs and probably the largest game collection I own, but Playstation 1 has my favourite titles on it (Suikoden II, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy Tactics) and the Super Nintendo had some of the best RPGs I've played (Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI).

Tobias Langhoff (tobiasvl) | 136 comments Very hard to say! From the late eighties and until about 2005 I was primarily a Nintendo player, and all of the consoles they released in that timeframe were great.

This generation and the previous, however, I've mainly been an Xbox guy, not in small part because that's where the space operas have been; Halo, obviously, and the first Mass Effect at the time. The Xbox 360 is high on the list of all-time favorite consoles too.

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 102 comments Gotta go with the Xbox 360, but feel obligated to shout out to all the fun I had on N64 and to say that I think the Dreamcast had more potential than most realized.

Dara (cmdrdara) | 2702 comments I've only ever owned a Playstation 2 and 3 so I have to go with 3. I use it every day for either playing games or streaming Netflix or YouTube.

Keidy | 525 comments Sega Dreamcast. Period. I played some awesomely weird games on that system (Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Space Channel 5, Samba de Amigo) that to this day I hope get ported over. Seaman anyone? ^_^

Also, I played my favorite game of all time on that system (Sonic Adventure) and played some unique and awesome RPGs that I'll never forget (Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia).

I never really thought about it that way but now that I do think about, you're probably right. I lived a sheltered life so at that time there was no one but me who was into video games. And did I mention that I'm a HUGE Sonic the Hedgehog fan? If I went back in time and knowing everything I do now and had the choice between the PS2 playing DVDs and the Dreamcast that plays Sonic, I'd choose the Dreamcast again anyways, short lifespan or no. It really was a shame it didn't survive. They had exceptional games in that system to the likes that has never been seen nor will ever be seen again. :(

I loved my Dreamcast and Seaman set the bar for great weird games. There were so many great games on that system. Sonic Adventure, Jet Set Radio, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Toy Commander, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Resident Evil: Code Veronica (still my favorite RE game), Crazy Taxi, Grandia 2, and Silver. That doesn't even include all the great sports games, including Ready 2 Rumble. Yes, the Dreamcast had a short life, but even years after it died we would still get it out to play some of those games. My nephew and I still argue about who was better at Ready 2 Rumble. I think I still have a couple of the memory cards for it.

Having said all that, I'm not sure which system would be my favorite. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm on my 12th system now. 13 if you count Pong, but since it only played one game and forever burned the image into our television (sorry Dad!), I don't think it counts. I'm currently addicted to my Xbox One. I decided I couldn't justify spending the money for both PS and Xbox systems in the last two generations, but No Man's Sky has me reconsidering. I might have to get a PS4 after all.

The correct answer is whatever console I'm playing right now, which is the Xbox One. I've loved every games machine I've ever had.

My family had some cheap Pong rip-off in the mid 70's
Dick Smith Wizzard (aka Creativision)
Vic-20, Commodore 64, Amiga 500
Playstation, Playstation 2
Xbox 360, Xbox One

Standouts would be Amiga 500 (that was the one I spent the most time playing with my nephews & nieces when they were growing up)
& Playstation was the console my goddaughter and I played together.
She loved the Tomb Raider games, though I had to lie and tell her we were putting all the animals to sleep. She was only 5. (We were actually killing them)

Games are always more fun when playing with people you know.
Multiplayer online is fun, but can be ruined by random idiots.
