I feel like its gonna be the biggest cliff hanger for a movie if they cut it off at a certain point, making all the people who didn't read the book very mad... That point in the middle... Just as Peeta comes back

I don't remember too many specifics, but I feel like for shock value, they might end it with Peeta trying to kill Katniss after he's rescued.
I'm also thinking that the cut off will be when Peeta gets back or someone telling Katniss that he's back.

I think they will cut it off right at the part where Peeta strangles Katniss. Because that would be the perfect part. It would make people want to come back and watch part 2.
I just finished rereading Mockingjay and I think they will show the part when Peeta tries to kill her but I don't think they'll end the movie until after they explain that he might be highjacked. It will still be shocking yet give people an actual ending and allow them wonder what will happen next.
Either when Peeta comes back, or when they are in the Capitol and Coin sends Peeta in to be a member of the elite shooter squad and everyone is in shock because they know he wants to kill Katniss.
Alright I imagine the Mockingjay Part 1 ending something like thisKatniss is depressed by Peeta turning dark, especially when he calls her a mutt. So she stubbornly decides to go to D2 with soldiers. Everyone agrees and she's sent there. When she's waiting to get out of the place in a chance to talk to D2 people, she's still upset about Peeta, and also about Gale's plans to blow the mountain from outside. During her shot to talk to the people, she tries to let out All her frustation (with a bit of Haymitch's help through the earphone..he's letting out his frustation too). She tells people how they should all get free of the Hunger Games (which not only lies in the arena but outside the arena too), and how that is only possible if all the distrcits combine to overthrow Capitol. She claims that she wants to be free of this Hunger Games too (referring to Mockingjay..a free bird), and that's why she won't raise her weapon to kill anyone of D2 people. But after such an awesome speech which moves the audience, someone suddenly shoots her, with a Big GASP from the audience, thinking that she's probably gone for good.
In the last shot of Mockingjay Part 1 she's on a wheel bed taken into hospital of D13, Haymitch and Plutarch watching from a distance. They discuss about katniss bravery and Plutarch assures that she'll be fine, just needs to be healed for several weeks. And then he claims how well she'd done her job, now that all the districts are combined and wholly free of capitol (and thus from Hunger Games itself). When Haymitch asks what will happen next, Plutarch will smile and says The War...or something equally dramatic. And that's how the movie will end.
That's what I think anyway. Thanks for reading the rant :P, but that's exactly how I think of the scenes going in my head!
I like that, but Plutarch will be limited. I've heard that they have his voice, and will just not show his face during most of the film...Has anyone else heard what they are planning to do now that the actor is deceased?
Actually Plutarch had finished his scenes of Moackingjay Part 1 and almost all the shots of M2. They said they'll bring a little change in the scenes in that one, but it will be still good. Though I really feel sorry for Mr. Hoffman.

Just as P..."Which will send a lot of people who don't usually read to the bookstore, lol;) That's what happened to me after Catching Fire, except I AM a reader, I just find the whole series a bit hard on my emotions so I told myself I'll just watch the movies after how haunted I was by The Hunger Games. Easier on my heart. But then Catching Fire had to have that cliffhanger, and thus I read Mockingjay…. then read Catching Fire….. then re-watched all the scenes from The Hunger Games on youtube that I could find. This story just grips me too hard!!
