ABANDONED. YA read, cinderella type title and cover has girl in sweats and broom

Read a long time ago but I remember the cover (which could have been changed since I read it) had a brown haired girl who was wearing sweats and holding a broom. Premise was something about how she is a smart girl in HS and has to tutor a jock. Don't remember much else about it, but I seem to remember the title and story had a Cinderella feel to it... Probably would have been published in the 90's

I can't find any covers for this book, but maybe Goodnight, Cinderella? I'm not sure how much of that fits.
