ABANDONED. read about 5 years ago. book revolving around the main character having a feather from a rare sea bird.

I read the book about 5 or 6 years ago in 7th grade. Had probably a 10th grade reading level. Was probably science fiction. Main character I think was a girl and was stuck on an island after a shipwreck? Had a large feather from a bird who lives out at sea.

Island of the Blue Dolphins? I can't remember if there was a part about a feather.

I think the cover was like the island. I don't think it was part of a series but if it was it was most likely the first book. It didn't really have a time period but I'd say a few hundred years ago or less. I believe it was a storm that caused it. I can't remember anything about other survivors. I'm fairly sure she was trying to find her father. The island wasn't like island of the blue dolphins. It was full of people like they were in a town.
