Removing a Book From Amazon

I've submitted a short story to a few magazines, and if accepted, I'll have to remove it from Amazon for a period of time. Would I have to unpublish it? Or is there some way I could just make it inactive? And if I do have to unpublish, will I lose all of my ratings and reviews?

IF it is just in ebook format, change it to 'draft' on your amazon dashboard, then you can reactivate it again, with all your reviews intact.
If it is also in paperback you can contact createspace and have it marked as 'not available' but it still stays up there as 2nd hand copies might be available somewhere.
