Lynda Panther Mr Patterson writes a good story & takes a lot of care in sourcing experts to check his facts. So why O why doesn't he have a chemist on board to point out that his 'belly bomb' simply won't work like that? All it would give you is a tummyache & gas. He's not alone in this respect. There's the famous exploding fire extinguisher... come on! CO2 does NOT detonate, that's why it's used in fire extinguishers, for gawd's sake. Literature (mostly action stories) are littered with examples of bad science. Even the famous Lincoln Rhyme abuses his GC/MS technology....it can do a great deal, but it can't do what he claims for it. Come on, you famous authors, get it together! You earn enough to employ a jobbing chemist. I'll do it if you can't find anyone else: fees on application please. For a parting shot, the film Deep Impact.... if the shards of the meteor end up hitting the earth, then by the laws of physics the main body would have missed. I invite you to add your favourite bits of 'Bad Science' to the list.
