I started Crocodile on the Sandbank last night, and it is so much fun! I love female characters that are pragmatic and capable, without being stuffy fussy biddies!

Does this series need to be read in order?
Does this series need to be read in order?
I've finished my books in the series, A Hiss-tory of Magic and Pawsitively Dead and I've liked them. The second one is, perhaps, a bit dark for my tastes but I've enjoyed them. So, Mary, thank you for the choosing.
Nell wrote: "Does this series need to be read in order? "Nell - I think it would make more sense if read in order. There are some characters who come along later and become important in the series, and if read out of order, it would become rather confusing. They are pretty much chronological in nature.

Connie N. wrote: "Love those covers, Marisa."Yes they are beautiful, I will have to buy them and frame them on my wall!! LOL
After starting off the month in a reading slump, I was able to finish both Roast Mortem and Murder By Mocha. I have to say that the Coffehouse Mystery series is proving to be one of my favorite cozies.
Amanda, I'm new here but I just wanted to chime in with this...The Coffeehouse Mystery series is one of my all time favs!! I have never been to NY but I feel like it because of this series. Also makes me want to go & sit in a coffeehouse & read! Coffee & a good mystery..what else do you need?
I love sitting in a coffeehouse and read. Used to have small one down the street in my small town. The smells and sounds. The different people. The environment was like made for reading! It's like the books are at home in a coffee shop.!

LOL, now you're talking, Hilary! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I would definitely pull up a seat beside you by the fireplace.

It was my favorite stop when I had a little free time. Lots of free art by locals, also, and great brownies.
I did complete this challenge today, finishing 2 books in the Zoe Donovan series by Kathi Daley. As much as I love this author and this series, I do need a break since I did the serial challenge back to back with her books in Sept. and Oct. I usually don't read series books back to back because I do grow weary. However, I am sure by the time the January serial challenge rolls around (I'm skipping November & December), I will get the itch to pick up one of her books again. :-D
Meanwhile, I am happy to knock more of her books off my list. She writes too quickly, 2 or 3 books a month, that I cannot keep up.
Julesy, I finally finished the Larue Donavan series that you chose for me. Nothing like making it by the skin of my teeth!! I had a crazy busy October and the few minutes I had free over the entire month were spent enjoying these books. I really enjoyed spending that time romping through Magnolia, KY with LaRue and her cronies both dead and alive! Thanks for the great suggestion. It was neat that the series was set in KY since I live in Kentucky. LOL. Unfortunately, I was so darn busy I missed the deadline for participating in November's Challenge but I'll be back in December!! Happy Thanksgiving to all!Happy Reading,
Gina

You're welcome! I absolutely loved the Amelia Peabody series, and hope everyone else likes it as much as I did. If I get your name in the monthly challenge draw, and this is on your list, it's more than likely what I will choose!
