Cal, 150%. I can't see how people like Maven− he is so obviously not controlled by Elara. He is honestly the worst. And for those of you saying "i'm sick of love triangles," i'm sorry to say it but love triangles are what make these books so good. It's what fuels the fire of the fandom. I really hope she ends up with Cal, i seriously love him so much. And i as "cliché" as it may seem, it's much more than any book i've read. Idk, usually the girl is head over heels for the one guy, but Mare doesn't give off the vibe making me want her to be with Cal more. This is such a great book, I love it.

It's obviously Cal, due to Maven's betrayal. I don't know anyone who would even LIKE someone who betrayed them in such an inhuman way like Maven did with Mare, so I HIGHLY doubt she will develop feelings for him.

I say let her end up with NEITHER of them. I'm a little tired of love triangles and teenager betrayals.

Personally, I liked Maven more, but with that ending... I think it is doubtful that Mare will end up with him. But I also don't want her to end up with Cal either since I would be a cliche.

I kind of hope she ends up with someone that comes into play in another book....

I'm always and will always be forever team MAVEN. I don't know, I just feel their's still more to Maven. I just love him and I just want my ship (MarexMaven) to sail smoothly 💕

Cal. I don't really see her being with Kilorn. Seeing as I think he's more of the best friend \ brother type then anything of the crushing kind. But I hope she ends up with Cal seeing as they're so good together and Marvin betrayed them both.

Neither. Mavin used tricked Mare and Mavin and his mother take over the kingdom and use magic to make Cal kill his father on video infront of everyone and sentence mare and cal to death and that's practically wear it ends.


I had an extreme book hangover. I was team Mavin but now I'm team cal.

I will admit something did seen shady about Mavin I just didn't expect this at all.

I am in the middle. I do not care if Mare ends up with Cal or Maven, DEFINITELY NOT Kilorn. I just want Shade with Farley (R.I.P Shade).

I mean...if you read the second book...also there's an interview with the author and I think it says she won't end up with Maven?

Team Cal!!!! After book one I thought Maven was being controlled by his mother but he was still pure evil after her death in book two. Hopefully she will end up with Cal...fingers crossed :)

I am having alot of trouble trying to understand WHY people want Mare to end up with Maven ????? Dont get me wrong, I too love the bady boys, but I dont like those love where the ultimatum is

"IF I CANT HAVE YOU THAN NO ONE WILL" type of stories.

If someone can give me three GOOD reasons why, then I might be able to understand the minds of those that are shipping him with her.

Victoria Aveyard didn't say who she'll end up with she said that she'd be more focused on the deaths.
But for me I really would want Mare to be with Maven if he's being controlled or not. I loved him all the way.
Cal on the other hand, I wouldn't mind Mare ending up with him. I think they'd be good together! She did meet him first.
I like them both!

I certainly hope Cal, considering all that happened with Maven.

I think cal because maven is not who you think he is and also theres just more of a connection with cal. I think he understands mare more. They definitely have more passion

Well I agree. But I seem to back the losing side in love triangles so it will probably be Cal just to spite me. Lol
