Noris | 574 comments I do want a thing (even a flirting) between Manon and Dorian? Why? Because they are hella opposite, so so much that it sounds unbelievable!!! If Sarah makes them become in something I´d be utterly astonished. And I´m curious about how Sarah could manage this!

So... Sarah, here I am... surprise me!

message 52: by Sandy (new)

Sandy (bookblubbs) | 116 comments Honestly everything you said is just one interpretation of those scenes in the books. We still don't know what Sarah's plan is for them or for the rest of the books.

message 53: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan | 3 comments Does anyone have a link to/ know what are the exact Manon chapters in HOF and QOS?
I want to go back a re-read her chapters before EOS :) xx

Amanda | 86 comments After rereading the whole series in anticipation for EoS Mano has become one of my favorites. For some reason the second time around I just got her character more.

I think that they will be really close friends afterwards but neither of them will admit it and act all uptight but they will help each other in the worst of times.

Yeah, I can almost see Aelin with Manon before a batlle and the queen saying "Come on witch, let´s kick some male asses"

Manon Blackbeak | 60 comments From the moment Manon was introduced she was my all-time favourite character. She is loyal to her Thirteen and despite her grandmothers harsh and cruel words of discouragements she fights through it. In Empire Of Stroms when Manon (view spoiler)

Anna (anna_mac) How have you guys been pronouncing her name? Because I've always been saying it like man-in, but then I was listening to interviews with Sarah and she was prounouncing it like muh-non and I was like "who?"

message 64: by Tristen (new)

Tristen (bo0kenthusiast) Yeah it's supposed to be pronounced muh-non but sometimes I pronounce it like canon with an M

message 65: by [deleted user] (new)

I've been saying Canon with an M, but then I watched Christine and Sarah have an interview and I was like \(@.@)/ WAT

I also pronounced Aedion, as Aiden....

I prononce her name like Canon But with a 'M' in front. Muh-non sounds weird to me so I just prononce it my way

message 68: by Alicyn (new)

Alicyn Osterlund | 5 comments Honestly, Dorian is the only name that isn't pronounced oddly.

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

Truly.

message 70: by Manon (new)

Manon Blackbeak | 60 comments Alicyn wrote: "Honestly, Dorian is the only name that isn't pronounced oddly."

I agree

message 71: by Anna (new)

Anna (anna_mac) And Rowan, but it'd be pretty hard to butcher a name like Rowan.

imashamedofmyoldreviews (pleasedontjudgeme_ichanged) I pronounce Manon like Canon, too. Also, please tell me I'm not the only one who can properly pronounce Chaol.

message 73: by Manon (new)

How do you pronounce his name?

message 74: by Manon (new)

Manon Blackbeak | 60 comments I prononce his name like Chay-all aswell

imashamedofmyoldreviews (pleasedontjudgeme_ichanged) Same :D

message 76: by Manon (new)

Manon Blackbeak | 60 comments How do you all prononce Aedion?

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

For the longest time, I pronounced Aedion as Aedin...

I realize my mistakes now....

imashamedofmyoldreviews (pleasedontjudgeme_ichanged) Ay-dee-un.

message 79: by Anna (new)

Anna (anna_mac) I pronounce it like Ay-dee-in (sometimes un). For the longest time I pronounced Chaol like sh-ol (like Dole but sh).

Jo Jo Binks (Lily) | 177 comments C'mon guys, we all know Chaol is Kale!

Aelin: And so I was at the grocery store and I said to the store owner, I am a personal friend of kale.

Chaol: *through gritted teeth* Aelin.

Aelin: I have been intimately touched by Chaol.

Chaol: Aelin.

Aelin: I have been-

Chaol: *slams fist on table* Damn it Aelin!

message 81: by Anna (new)

Anna (anna_mac) I've been pronouncing Elide like elle-i'd (I'd as in the same way the contraction 'I would' is pronounced)

message 82: by Manon (new)

Manon Blackbeak | 60 comments I prounonce most of the names in the list above the same way

message 83: by Tristen (new)

Tristen (bo0kenthusiast) I just listen to SJM and pronounce them as she does. Except for Manon, I pronounce it both ways...

message 84: by Anna (new)

Anna (anna_mac) I'm not sure if that's the correct way to pronounce Elide, I just know that that's the way I've been saying it.

message 85: by Laura✧˚ · . (new)

Laura✧˚ · . (shelby_) | 132 comments You guys don't want to know how I pronounce the names in spanish lol. And It's difficult to pronounce in english at least to me

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

When I went to an SJM book signing last week, she discussed the characters and pronounced Manon as Muh-NAWN (I capitalized the last part because she stressed it).

message 87: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 182 comments Here's a pronunciation guide given by SJM.

message 88: by Anna (new)

Anna (anna_mac) Oh, so you were right about how to pronounce Elide @empress. Idk I probably will still pronounce it elle-i'd anyway.

message 89: by [deleted user] (last edited Sep 21, 2016 09:06PM) (new)

Guys, I know this isn't related to Manon, but is it ok to report bullying to the police? My friend is being bullied by this bitch and I want to rip her throat out.

Not really, that'd be a pain in the ass to clean up.

Also, I'd go to jail.

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

What would a specialized organization be???

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

Cause they don't go to the same school.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok. Thank you.

message 93: by Diane (new)

Diane (mystifiedswift) Hey guys, I wrote this poem about Manon and want to know what you think. :)

"They are not born evil."
The Crochan witch had spoken.
The words still haunted her
Had left her mind broken
She was born heartless
That was what she had been told
But was it really the truth?
It surprised her that the witch had been so bold
"They made you into monsters, Manon. Made. And we feel sorry for you."
Perhaps it was true.
Perhaps she was born without a heart.
Or maybe the Crochan witch was right with what she'd tried to impart
They had been forced to hurt and kill until they were heartless too
But maybe, just maybe they could try to start anew
She would rebel against her grandmother, she'd try to fight back
She'd been born with a heart
But her grandmother turned it black
She'd create a new world where the witches could live in harmony
And they'd take back the Wastes and live fearlessly

Solaris (solarisduvaniel) Not too shabby! B-)

I found it downright awesome.

Now. What other characters can I commission you to spout poetry about? ^_^

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

Nice poem!

message 96: by Diane (new)

Diane (mystifiedswift) I may have written a poem about Nehemia's death and Sam's death/Celaena in Endovier...

Post those somewhere! Or are they already posted, and I need only ask where? :)

message 98: by Diane (new)

Diane (mystifiedswift) I haven't posted those anywhere yet. Where would I? And if you have the Amino app for fandoms, I'll probably post it there on the Sarah J. Maas amino. Also I might write one about ACOMAF...

message 99: by Manon (new)
