I finished One Word From You. Loved it! It is the best YA adaptation I have read. Thanks for the pick Trish. I hope we can find a copy for you. I think you would enjoy it.
I finished reading Alias Thomas Bennet, A Pride and Prejudice Variation and posted a review. 3.5 stars
I finished The Second Chance by Joanna Starnes and really liked it! 4 Stars. It's so fun to read P&P characters interacting with characters from other Austen novels, in this case Sense & Sensibility. At one point Darcy is jealous of Col. Brandon for his easiness in Elizabeth's company. Lots of suffering & misunderstandings as well. Good stuff!
Thank you, Kim, for recommending that I read Lady Fortescue Steps Out by Marion Chesney. I’ve been wanting to read it for a while and am glad to have gotten it off my TBR! I’d heard rave reviews of it but it was only a three-star for me (review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...).
I finished The Annotated Persuasion by David M Shapard, as suggested to me by Kirk. Thank you for the suggestion. As I commented in my review it was a harder read just because I kept wanting to read all the side notes and then would get distracted so would have to re-read sentences at times. I enjoyed it because of the side notes because I was able to get a better understanding of things that were foreign to me!!

We do it every other month, Trish. So I'll send out a reminder and set up the new opportunity about mid- November for December's vote.
I've already mentally started making my new list of choices b/c I love this part of the challenge.

Thanks Kirk for selecting 1932 for me. It's a book that I couldn't put down!! Karen Cox is now a go to author for me since both books I've read by her have been amazing!!
Ahnya wrote: "@ Georgiana I decided to take a different approach, and pick the book I know nothing about. So it is going to be Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round. Plus the gender swap looke..."I just finished reading it (just a bit late) :D
Thank you for choosing it, Ahnya, I had to read it sooner or later, though I found it useless and bad done (I found many nouns, pronouns or adjectives the author forgot to switch).
Eventually I considered it as the umpteenth re-reading of Pride and Prejudice (and that never hurts!) ;)
I'm glad Erika enjoyed The Annotated Persuasion by Jane Austen & David M Shapard, that I chose for her (sorry Kirk) :D :D :D
Yay! Glad you finished, Georgiana. How cool that it was a switch up. I read one, too, by J. Marie Croft that was fun. Sorry, this one didn't get a nice polish of editing before being published. I'm awful at that sort of stuff, too, but that lets the amazing editor gods swoop in and make a book look brilliant. ;)
