This section covers the 3rd Marcus chapter through to the 5th Cithrin chapter. The first sentences of the section are:

No one knew how long the dragons had ruled the world, only that they had. The greatest empire that could be imagined had spanned the seas and lands of mankind and for all anyone knew more besides.

Lindsay | 546 comments Marcus and Kit find the dragon ruins in the jungle, Cithrin struggles with understanding the Timzinae customs in Suddapal and Clara's quiet spying is beginning to bear fruit.

There's character growth all over the place here with some healing for Marcus as he finds out that Yardem is trying to keep track of him. Cithrin is beginning to understand family, perhaps for the first time in her life. Clara is understanding her city and making some tough choices towards her role as the Resistance.

However, Geder: still nuts.

I think this series has some of the best character development out there. Think about where the characters are now compared to the beginning.

Remember identifying/liking Gedar? I do. Now he's largely an antagonist. And as you said, totally crazy.
