Sounds like a great idea Jonetta. We did this in another group and had 2 series going on. One that was less that 5 books and one that was longer. It was great to discuss how the characters developed.

Thanks for weighing in, Sheila!

Sounds like a great idea. I like the plan to have a few in progress at once. It would be a of fun way to tackle series.
I like the idea. I enjoyed the buddy reads and subsequent discussions very much. Plus I anticipate more time for reading in 2016 so it should work out well.
Might as well since I seem incapable of not starting new series. This latest one really has me hooked and I am still on the first book. No wonder you, Sandra and Quyhn all have 5 stars
Thanks Monica and Kris! Christina, pipe in whenever you can. Always welcome. Charlene, you're such a great reading partner.
Dawn, we're dragging you in screaming but not kicking, huh?:) What book are you reading?

Lol! We've some shared series, too. By the way, hubby is COMPLETELY hooked on Phryne Fisher. Going through the series for the second time.
Fatal Affair by Marie Force. I am hooked. She even reminded me of Eve a few minutes ago when she threatened "stick figure" with hauling him to jail where a lot of people are waiting to make him their bitch. Fell out laughing. Not sure how I feel about Nick yet.
I towed my travel trailer 375 miles today listening to it, and I cannot stop now that I am parked for the night. Not going to matter since I am certain I will be buying the next book. Gets me in the proper mood while waiting for my next Eve and Roarke fix.
Well, as it seems there's support for the idea, I'll go ahead and get started with the nomination process.
Thanks, all, for weighing in on the idea.

A few of my groups have undertaken group series reads for the coming year and as that's what we're about, I thought it might be a great undertaking for our members. So many of us read similar genres and are already collaborating nicely through buddy reads. If we could plan for group series reads in advance, we could have a lot more fun with our reading by having lively discussions.
If you're up for doing this, say so and we'll get the process started by giving you an opportunity to nominate recommendations. I'm thinking we can have several in progress (maybe three) if we can designate a leader for each.
So! What do you think?
