SOLVED. Book of horror short stories, all by same author, including story about a woman whose past tragedy is coming back. [s]

Maybe someone can help me out. I remember reading a book years ago but I can't remember the title or the author although I vaguely remember the author being a man. It was a book of short stories, the first story was the longest, and I believe they were all written by the same author. The first story (the longest one) was about a woman who was raped by a man who broke into her home while she was in her teens and then years later she had moved on and had a boyfriend but the man that originally attacked her comes back and comes after her again. I also remember one of the other stories involving a child being drowned in a swimming pool.

I know this isn't a lot of information to go by but any suggestions or help would be much appreciated!

It must've been about 6/7 years ago now.

I borrowed it from a friend at the time but I haven't been in contact with her for a long time now so I can't really ask her.
