In the book, "A Kiss in Time" by Alex Flinn , the author lead us into a exciting new retelling of Sleeping Beauty. In this new version of the tale the readers are introduced to a beautiful princess named Talia. As the original story goes the princess and her kingdom are cursed into a deep slumber when she pricks her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel. What differs from the original fairy tale and this story is that unlike the typical cliché "Prince Charming" our hero turns out to be a dorky, teenage boy named Jack. The author describes how he and his friends stumble upon Talia and how Jack notices Talia's beauty. Now of course if a teenage boy is presented with the chance to kiss a attractive girl most likely he'll take that chance, so just as expected Jack kisses Talia while she's asleep. Upon receiving this kiss the princess and her whole kingdom of Euphrasia awake from their deep sleep only to find out they've been asleep for three hundred years! So because of this Jack must help Talia adjust to the modern world while all the while she still frightened of the witch who cursed her in the first place.i found this to be a lovely twist on a classic fairy tale and it's a extremely enjoyable read!
