Cast for movie based on books

Any ideas on who you would like to see if the series was opted for film?

I don't think I've ever thought about it. Part of me would love to see it adapted because I love it so much but the other part of me wants to keep it a secret because Hollywood would inevitably ruin it.

I think if it were ever adapted it would need a completely unknown cast. The minors could be complete unknowns and the adults could be little-known or complete unknowns. Perhaps they could go the HP route and make the adults be the known actors.

Nicqui, interesting comment. I sorta agree about Hollywood casting. The British might do a better job. And unknowns sprinkled with stars like HP could work, but why do I see Judi Dench as Madame Geraldine?

I actually see Dame Judi more as the nun and Dame Helen as Geraldine. Based on the voluptuous description, I see someone more noted for their cleavage.

Nicqui, You might be right. But what about Emma Thompson as Madame Lefoux?

I love Emma Thompson but I don't know that she fits the body type of LeFoux. I see Allison Janney or Jane Lynch even though they're both American. Or maybe this is where an unknown would come in.

Nicqui, I'd prefer Allison Janney to Jane Lynch for the part. But what about Samantha Bond?

She would be very good. There is also the possibility that there is some fantastic, slender, lanky French actress who would do it well. The only tall French actress I can think of is Evelyne Brochu. If the hair and make-up was very severe she could play Madame LeFoux.

Edit: She's actually Canadian but Quebec so it still counts. Her accent would be legit.
