"What if one's an animal?" Jasper asked.

(Yes you have because Costa pointed that out to you!) "My sister has a friend that's good with animals. She actually has a few friends that are good with animals, so it wouldn't be too bad."

Lena quietly slipped into the library, small vial of water in her hand. She walked around, looking for a book. When she found what she was looking for, she sat down on a small fluffy chair near the entrance.
I sit in the small, rather uncomfortable seat, and close my eyes, so that I may meditate. Libraries are the only places in which I can meditate peacefully, and without interruptions.
Lena noticed a boy sitting in a small seat. She wanted to make a friend, since no one had since she'd arrived. "Hello." She started, walking over.
I practically asked for it, didn't I? "What is it that you want?" I ask coldly, opening my eyes to look at the child gazing up at me.
"To know you?" Lena responded, trying to keep the sass out of her tone. She felt exasperated. This is what I get for trying to meet friends. She sighed.
I chuckle darkly. "Trust me, little girl, when I say that you don't want to know me."
"But you seem so much more interesting than normal people." Lena pointed out, moving to sit down on the ground next to him.
I sigh. "You wouldn't say that if you knew what has happened to me, or what happens to those around me." This little pest seems to be rather persistent.
"I'm Lena, by the way." She introduced herself, reaching out her hand for a shake.
"And I am not interested." I get up and walk away from the tiny girl, and growl a curse under my breath.
"Excuese me." Lena said, shocked. "You seem to like talking" She lowered her voice. "And cursing." She quickly stood up to follow him.
"And you, little girl, seem to like being annoying." I walk faster, and head towards the door, hoping that the little brat gets the message. And all I wanted to do was to meditate.
"I'm sorry, what did I do wrong?" Lena asked, running after him.
"You opened your mouth."
Lena raised her eyebrow. "Well, aren't you just bursting with positivity." She said sarcastically.
"Says the walking pile of magic."
Lena looked shocked, almost taken aback. "I'm sorry, but who do you think you are that you can just address me like that?" She bit her lip, trying to restrain herself from using magic.
I laugh, more of a grim, evil laugh, but a laugh nonetheless. "Me? Well, let us just say that I am not of this world."
Lena swallowed a lump that was emerging in her throat. "Not to be rude, but who are you?" She asked softly.
I grin a shark's grin. "I am what keeps you up at Night. I am the Shadow in the back of your Mind. I am the Bane of your Joy, and the Harbinger of Darkness."
"Yeah..." Lena gestured for him to continue. "And your name is?"
"My name is the least of your concerns."
"Are you threatening me?" Lena asked, crossing her arms and stomping her feet.
"No, but if you don't stop talking I might."
Lena stopped talking and waited impatiently for an answer.
"What is it that you want, Kid?"
"Your name? Your age? You know, the exotic things about you." Lena said, kind of sarcastically.
"Exotic? What exactly do you think I am, fool?"
"That was sarcastic!" Lena said, exasperated.
"Well then, what do you think I am, little girl?" I fold my arms over my chest, and glare down at her.
"A demon?" Lena tried hopelessly, shrugging.
I raise an eyebrow. "Not hard to guess, given the clues I gave you and the fact that your magical aura gives me the knowledge that you're a witch, and therefore able to detect my own aura." I stoop down to her eye level, keeping eye contact at all times. "But tell me this, Witchling, as you seem so clever: Who am I?"
Lena opened her mouth to speak, then closed it when she realized A) How awkward she felt, B) That she had no idea and C) That he'd bested her if she didn't say anything. "Someone important?" She guessed.
"And how then, Oh mighty Witch, would you define important?" I grin, knowing that she is backed into a metaphorical corner.
"Amazing, contributing to society?" Lena guessed.
"Wrong on both accounts. I am nowhere near wanting to help put society, and amazing is very opinionated."
"I have no idea." Lena sighed.
"Good. Because if you knew who I truly am, you would have hunters on you left, right and centre."
