LJF | 260 comments "I told you, I'm not," she said, laughing, as they reached the exit, "But that's one of the things I'd be curious about if I were you, and probably the only one I can answer."

message 52: by [deleted user] (new)

He didn't understand what was funny. He guessed laughing was better than crying. "So you never had any idea about why you were born in a palace? Do you think you were a princess?" She didn't look like one, but then he'd never seen one before.

message 53: by [deleted user] (new)

((I gotta go see ya later))

message 54: by LJF (new)

LJF | 260 comments "No, it would have said," she said, "My parents were probably servants. I'll go back later to see if I can find their books, but right now I want to see if the library has anything about Grenith."
She touched the door, it opened, they stepped through, and then the door closed behind them.
"If you ever want to go back, I can take you."

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

He nodded. He'd rather be alone but he wouldn't tell him the password. They weren't really even friends...he didn't think. "Okay." He rubbed his neck and went to look for a Grenith book.

message 56: by LJF (new)

LJF | 260 comments Boys. She walked over to the librarian and asked, "Do you have any books about the kingdom of Grenith?"
"Oh, that's not a request we get very often," she said, "School project?" "No." "Follow me- what's your name?"
"Fae." "Beautiful."
The librarian led he past the sci-fi, the his-fic, and the picture book sections. On a shelf, mixed in with several botany books, was a book called 101 Ways to Weed. The librarian picked it up, opened it,turned to the back, and pulled out a small piece of paper. She whispered something, and it grew into a book. She handed it to Fae. The Lost Kingdom of Grenith. "Here," she said, "But bring it back in two weeks."

message 57: by [deleted user] (new)

"Got it?" He asked as he walked over. "Uh do you still need my help? He looked for a book. Not to read but to get on the librarians nerves when he didn't bring it back, or when he brang it back it was slightly burned or wet. He smiled.

message 58: by LJF (new)

LJF | 260 comments She laughed at the expression on his face. It was.. sweet. Free. Like a little boy planning to prank his sister, as opposed to a world-weary elf who hated contact. She shuddered to think of what could have happened to make him like this. Had someone been cruel to him?
"Uh, got it," she said, "Do you want to look at it with me, or would you rather I left you alone and read it at home?"

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

Did he do something funny? He frowned again. "Uh if you want me to stay I can." He didn't know what to expect with that book. She probably wanted them there. If he was reading about his past for the first time he would want someone there even though he hated people. He looked at his feet.

message 60: by LJF (new)

LJF | 260 comments So he'd warmed up to her, somewhat. Why did that make her nervous she smiled, then looked at her watch.
"Gosh, look at the time," she said, "Dray'll be home soon, and he'll kill me if he finds out I came here. Apparently, it's 'too dangerous' to go anywhere he hasn't looked over first. Brothers."
She laughed. Before he could protest, she hugged him tightly, whispered "thanks" in his ear, and dashed out of the library, and headed for home.

message 62: by [deleted user] (new)

He wrinkled his nose. Looked down at his chest. Did she just hug him? He didn't like hugs. He sighed. Now he had to shower, great. He groaned and picked out a random book. He went to the desk. The librarian gave him a dirty look but checked out the book for him. He slowly walked home with fire dancing around his fingers.

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

((Uh like 5'7 I guess))

LJF | 260 comments She watched him, silently. she saw how he went. He lived practically next door to her. She smiled, then ran home. She had a felling she'd see Caspian Delta again.

See ya

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

Lapis sat at one of the many desks. She had many books stacked up on either side of her. She leaned back on the chair with a thin book in her hands, her legs swinging back and forth as she read.

message 68: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments Armina browsed through the aisles of books until she found one on lycanthropy. Peering into the main room of the library, she noticed that most of the desks had other mythical creatures sitting at them. She walked aimlessly around the room until she finally decided on the desk with a younger-looking girl sitting at it. Glancing over her shoulder, she walked over to the desk, standing awkwardly next to it for a moment before speaking up. "Hey," she asked, "Is it okay if I sit here?"

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

Lapis looked up from her book and smiled at the girl who had spoken. "Ya, it fine with me and kitty." She said as she put her book down on the table, making sure to mark her page. "What book are you reading?"

message 70: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments Armina hugged her book tighter to her chest, covering the title, as her gaze dropped to the floor. "Uh..." She hesitated. You have to learn to trust other people, she told herself. Not everyone is out to get you. She sighed, pulling out a chair and sitting down. She lowered her voice and admitted, "It- It's about lycanthropy. I need to know more about it."

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

"Lycanthropy? What's that?" She asked looking closely at the book. She picked up her book and showed the girl. "I'm reading the Giving Tree, and kitty's reading Thumbelina." She said as she pushed one of the stacks of books to reveal a stuffed cat positioned to look like it was reading the open book in front of it.

message 72: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments She smiled, suppressing a chuckle. "I've heard the Giving Tree is a good book, but I've never read it. I haven't heard of Thumbelina. Does kitty like it?" She gently put her book down on the desk. She hesitated, debating how much she should reveal. "Lycanthropy just means that it is about werewolves. Have you heard of them before?"

message 73: by [deleted user] (new)

"Oh, I know what where wolves are there are a few here, I've seen them before." She said nodding. "I think the Giving tree is a good book. I like to read it, it's my favorite. And Thumbelina is about a girl that was born from a flower and then met a fairy prince." She turned to face the girl. "They're going to get married but Kitty hasn't gotten that far yet so don't tell him." She whispered.

message 74: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments She smiled again. She was really starting to like this girl. "Thumbelina sounds like a good book. I'll have to read it sometime. Don't worry, I won't tell him." She pantomimed zipping her lips and throwing away the key. Good, she knew what werewolves were. But, would the girl be freaked out by her if she knew the truth? She hardly knew her. Armina hardly even knew the girl, herself. Should she really tell her one of her biggest secrets right away? She didn't even know her name. She hesitated for a second, looking down at the table and shifting in her seat. "Uh... I- What's your name?" She had gotten too nervous and freaked herself out. She wanted to facepalm, but she didn't want the girl to ask why she had done it.

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

"Good, he hates when I spoil the ending for him. He gets so upset, one time I told him the ending to a book and he wouldn't play with me for a week." She said as she turned the page for the cat. "My name is Lapis Lalita. What's yours?" She asked, "Do I make you nervous? I know my kind don't have the best record but I promise I'm not like all the other. I don't kill people." She said smiling reassuringly at her.

message 76: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments She laughed at what she said about kitty. "My name is Armina Silverfang." She replied. "No." She said quickly, "You don't make me nervous. I'm- I'm just nervous around everybody. If anything, you make me feel better about myself." She rubbed her arm and looked down at the table. "I- I don't even know what you are." She nervously chuckled, looking back at Lapis. "I don't kill people either." She looked down and sighed, hesitating again. "I'm a werewolf." She quickly closed her eyes and raised her arm, as if to protect herself from being beaten.

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

"Nice to met you, Armina. I already figured out you were a werwolf when you told me what the book was. Why do people make you nervous? There's lots of nice people here. The only people that are here that aren't nice are the hunters. Oh, I almost forgot, I'm a Willow-of-the-Wisp." She said rambling slightly. "What are you doing with your arm?" She asked confused.

message 78: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments She opened her eyes. "Um... nothing." She slowly lowered her arm, surprised, yet happy that Lapis didn't want to hurt her."Oh," She said, "That's pretty cool that you are a Willow-of-the-Wisp. Now I know why you told me you weren't like the others. I understand." She looked at her, confused. "You don't hate me? I thought people hated werewolves. I did, for most of my life." Why was she telling Lapis all of this? She just seemed really trustworthy, and it was nice to have someone to finally talk to. "I never really had good experiences with people... I would guess that not many people here did, though." She sighed and sat back in her chair. She hesitated if she should keep going, then decided that she should. "When I was young, around your age, I think, I was kidnapped by a bad pack of werewolves. They would beat me and scratch me until I cried out,... then kill anyone who came to help me." She looked down at the table, rolling up her sleeve so Lapis could see the countless scratches and bruises on her arm. "I've been nervous around other people ever since."

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

"Oh, I get it. You don't have to worry about anyone here hate in you for what you are. Lots of people here like werewolves." She said glancing down at Armina's arm. "Lots of people here have scars too. Lots of people fight Hunters and come back really hurt, or don't come back at all." She said with a slight shrug. "It's normal for us to have those." She jumped down form the seat and grabbed her cat with one hand and Armina's hand with the other. "I want to show you something. Would that be okay?"

message 80: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments ((Sorry! I got really busy!))
She smiled, rolling her sleeve back down. She had only known this girl for a short while, and she had already made her feel a lot better than she had felt in a long time. "Thanks." She stood up from her seat. "Of course that would be okay." She sighed, smiling. "Man, it feels good to tell someone everything after all these years."

message 81: by [deleted user] (new)

((It's fine! I don't mind!^-^))

"You've never told anyone this before? Well in that case I'll tell you about myself. I'm originally from Scotland, but I came over here on a ship when I was three. I don't remember much but I remember the ship sailing on the open sea. I lived with daddy for three years and then a few months ago he passed away. I live alone now." She said as she lead her to the back of the library. "I can't reach but the book I want to show you is on the third shelf down from the top. The blue one with no title."

message 82: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments "Wow. That's terrible. You knew your family even less than I did. I'm sorry." She paused for a second. "Thank you for telling me, though." How could Lapis still be so kind with a past like she had? Suddenly Armina felt like she shouldn't have brought up her past at all. She browsed the shelf until she found the book Lapis had described. She pulled it off of the shelf and handed it to her. "Here. Is this it?"

message 83: by [deleted user] (new)

"You don't need to apologize. You did do anything wrong." She said as she took the book and opened to the first page. "Yup it this one. 'A guide to becoming a werewolf, and includes legends from around the world, werewolf style, and examples of werewolves in mass media.'" She read. "This one might help you." She passed her back the book smiling.

message 84: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments ((Sorry again!))
She smiled back. "Thanks. You must really know your way around here, huh?" She quickly flipped through some of the pages, glancing over the content. "This looks perfect. Thank you."

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ya I spend a lot of time here I'm teaching myself to read." She took Armina's hand again and went back to the desk. "Are there any other books you want to read?"

message 86: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments "No, I think this should be good." She walked back to the desk with Lapis, glancing around the room as she always did. "I just need to learn how to turn into a werewolf. I've only done it once before. Let's just say... it went badly." She looked away at the ground before looking back at Lapis and continuing, "I need to learn to use my power to protect people, without hurting them." She bit her lip, then tried to change the subject away from her past, "What do you usually like to read? Do you want to get any other books?"

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

"If you need help you can always ask one of the other werewolves or werecats here." She said as they got back to the desk they were at before. She climbed back on to her chair and placed her cat on the table like it was before. "I don't need any more books there's a bunch here." She said looking over at the stacks of books she had brought over before. "I like to read poems my favorite book is 'Runny Babbit' have you ever read it?"

message 88: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments She smiled at Lapis. "Thanks. Maybe I'll talk to them later." Man, for a kid, Lapis seemed smarter than her. She sat back down in her chair, placing her book on the table and looking over at Lapis. "No, I've never read it before. What's it about?"

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

"It a big book of poems. A lot of the poems have their first letters switched with another words. Like the title, it was originally bunny rabbit but the first letters were switched." She explained as she looked through the books in front of her. "Here it is." She handed her a white hard covered book. "You should read it."

message 90: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments "Oh, that sounds cool." She took the book from her hands. "Thanks, I'll read it." She read through a couple of poems, laughing at almost every line. "These are great." She smiled, looking over at Lapis. "Shanks for Thowing me." She laughed at her own joke, then looked around to make sure no one else noticed.

message 91: by [deleted user] (new)

Lapis giggled. She grinned at Armina, "I take it that you like them? If you ever get the chance you should look up more books by this person." She stopped smiling and looked slightly confused. "Where's everyone going?" She asked as she watched everyone in the library including the librarian get up and leave. "The library is open all day and night. Why are they leavening?"

message 92: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments Armina smiled. "I really like them. I'll have to look them up." She could hear everyone getting up from their chairs and looked to see them leaving, too. "I have no idea where they are going." She frowned. "They look worried. We should check it out."

message 93: by [deleted user] (new)

"I don't know. Maybe the adults should handle it. I can't do much to help anyway. We probably should stay in case it's something dangerous." She turned around in her chair so she could watch them walk through the doors. "Maybe the hunters are trying to raid again. But how do they all know?"

message 94: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments Armina wasn't entirely convinced. "Something's wrong. They wouldn't all know if there was a hunter raid, would they?" She thought for a second. "It has to be something else." She sighed. She had only turned into a werewolf once before, would she actually be able to do it again? Maybe Lapis was right. Neither of them could do much to help, could they? "I don't want to just sit here while people could be in danger, but I understand what you mean." She quickly scanned the library before continuing, "I at least want to look out the window to see what is going on." She stood up, holding out her hand to Lapis. "I don't want to leave you here alone, just in case the problem is in the library. Will you come with me?"

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

She nodded and picked up kitty, holding him close to her chest. "Let's go to the second floor window." She suggested as she slid off the chair and too Armina's hand. "The upstairs windows are one way stain glass. If someone's out side they won't see us."

message 96: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments "That's perfect." She said, grabbing Lapis's hand. She scanned the library for people, but it seemed like everyone had left. She made her way upstairs with Lapis and peered out the window. She saw what seemed to be two people yelling at each other, fists raised, while the others gathered around them. "I think there's a fight going on." She admitted. She pressed her ear against the window, hearing the screams of the onlookers telling them to stop. "Yes, definitely a fight."

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

Lapis stood on her tip toes to look out the window and she was just barely able to see the people bellow. "I wonder what they are fighting about? If it was just a fight than how did everyone know to get out there?" She asked as one of the people that were fighting headed for the door to the library.

message 98: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments Armina grew worried. "I don't know. It has to be more than just a simple fight, but I have no idea what it really is." Her eyes widened as one of the people headed for the door. She ducked down from the window. "Hide!" She whispered loudly, pulling the hood of her sweatshirt up and trying to hide Lapis by behind the nearest chair. The doors slammed open. A man burst in, gruffly yelling, "Hello?" while looking around the room.

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

Lapis hid behind the closest chair and crouched down so she could see the stairs. She grabbed onto Armina's sleeve, "Do we answer?" She whispered. She watched the stairs as she heard foot steps getting closer to them. He was walking right below them.

message 100: by Armina (new)

Armina (arminasilverfang) | 600 comments Armina was panicking on the inside, but she tried not to show it in front of Lapis. "No..." She whispered, trying to keep her voice from shaking. What could she do? He would definitely find them sooner or later. She had to protect Lapis, no matter what the cause. She put on a determined face and turned to look Lapis in the eyes. "Stay hidden. I'm going to do something stupid. I'll try to keep you safe." She whispered, quickly, yet quietly crawling away so she couldn't be stopped. She silently crawled across the floor, listening to his footsteps to make sure she stayed out of his sight. She got as far away from Lapis as she thought she could without attracting his attention. She tried to stay calm as she stood up, pulled her hood down, and shouted, "Hey!" As the man turned to look at her, she continued, trying not to show her fear, "What are you doing here?"
