Would it be possible to add another stipulation to NOT merge classic works that have been uniquely adapted in picture book form? Each of these is usually a unique work in that the wording and illustrations are distinct. They may have the same root inspiration, but like in this Snow Queen file, all the books are not the same at all. The version illustrated by Christian Birmingham is quite distinct from the version illustrated by P.J. Lynch. I have tried in the past to separate distinct adaptations of various fairy tales and other classic works, but they manage to end up all clumped together again. There are several Caldecott awards out there for picture book versions of fairy tales and they show up linked to lots of other books because of this merging (see Puss in Boots ill. by Marcellino for an example). To reduce confusion, it could be suggested to possibly put the illustrator's name first for distinct adaptations of classic works, or anyone else have a good idea?

Adaptations should have the adaptor's name listed as primary author. See https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2...

But when you go to "combine" not all of that message shows up. The part about listing adaptor as primary is not displayed. Could it be possible to get that part to show up every time the combine page comes up?
