She saw him shifting around a lot and poked him from behind. "James... James! Wake up!" She said louder so he could wake up.

James bolted it up in his bed. He looked around in a panic. He saw someone next to him. He stared at her for a while
She moved back when he woke up in a panic state. "Calm down. Everything is okay. Just had a lot to drink tonight." She said softly to him.
James stared at her and laid back down. "I'm sorry." He said as he turned on his side. "Just a dream."
"What was it about?" She asked him softly. "If you mind me asking. If you don't want to say it, you don't have to." She added quickly.
"Just a friend." He said quietly as he rolled back over and looked at her. He had no smile anymore as he stared at her. "You live with no regrets. Right?"
"Well... I do..." She said and looked at him. She didn't know how much comfort that smile brought until it was gone. "Hey, cheer up. We still have a couples contest right?" She said trying to cheer him up.
He sat up slowly. "Yeah I guess we do." He said putting on a small smile. "Let's go finish this night." He stood up from the bed and wobbled a bit the alcohol still in his system
"Wait." She grabbed his arm. "Be careful though. Like I have said, if you fall I'll catch you." She said, also meaning whenever he is sad or needs someone.
He looked at her and smiled. "Thanks. Means a lot." He said as he went to the door and opened. The noise hit his head like a bowling ball. He walked out slowly looking for Greg
She was used to the noise by now. She could tell James didn't like it. She walked him to find his friend, which she thinks is Greg, and found him. "He's over there." She said to James.
James walked over to him and toile the mic. "Ok guys final contest for tonight. Best date! Everyone who has a date report up front."
She looked up at James quietly. She didn't want to be the one pulling him up there. Honestly, she didn't think they were dating. But, she wasn't sure about James.
She looked at him and slowly nodded. She held his hand and walked up front with him. She looked around at other people and found herself chewing nervously on her lip.
"Well let's have our three judges come up. Greg, Brittany, and Alex." He said as two boys and a girl came up. "Now you three must be unanimous in your vote. Go ahead." He said as they each started looking at each the dates.
"James. What are they judging?" She asked him. She felt nervous and stiff all over. She needed to play it cool, but how?
"Oh." She said softly. "I don't know. These people could be dating for months. We only met yesterday."
"I have complete faith in you." He said with a smile. The judges walked from person to person each of them posing for the judges. "Posing? Pff that's a bit unfair."
"Yeah, but I'm amusing they get points. What should we do?" She honestly wanted to win. She never knew she had a competitive side, but loved it all the same.
"Hmm well if we want to win, we got to blow the competition away." He said thinking. "Any suggestions?" He asked seeing the judges three people away
"Uh... We can dance?" She asked. "Or I can dance and you just clap along." She said. She did do ballet for a few years because of some weird craze she had.
"Haha we will dance." He said as he looked at his pal who was the dj. "Give us something nice and slow." He said as the music changed dramatically. He looked at her and bowed. "May I have this dance?"
She nodded and got into position with him. She was nervous of course, but if this meant to win. She would do it. She started to dance with him.
The music kept going as James got lost in the moment. The judges came and watched as they began to talk about who won. The song ended as James smiled. "You are really good." He told Delilah and handed the mic to Greg. "We have a winner." Greg said as he went behind James and Delilah putting arms around them
Delilah smiled and pumped her fists in the air along with everyone else. She looked at James and smiled brightly. "You basically won every contest tonight and you're fine." She said happily.
He smiled and laughed holding up his hands. "Fine is a relative term." He said with a smile. 'If only I was fine.' He thought to himself as he grabbed the mic. "Ok guys those were or contests. Drink and whatnot but everyone will be forced out once we hit one in the morning. So enjoy yourselves!" He yelled loudly
She looked at him again and smiled. "That was really fun. I'm still sorry for getting shoved back. I couldn't cheer you on well." She said to him softly. "But, what do you want to do?"
"Hey no problem. What do I want to do? I have no clue." He said thinking. "By now I'm usually just heading outside cause my head hurts and go look at stars. Then see where it goes."
"Really? I guess it's loud, but sure. Do you want to bring something to drink with us?" She asked him softly.
James walked over to his fridge and pulled out a beer and a Pepsi. "Here." He said handing her the Pepsi. "Since you aren't a fan of drinking." He said smiling and started to walk towards the front door
She nodded and opened the Pepsi. "Thank you." She took a sip then walked outside of the dorm with him. "That was fun."
"It was." He said smiling. He sat down on the steps of his dorm and looked up at the stars. "Aren't they beautiful?"
She sat down by him and looked up. She nodded slowly. "They might be more beautiful since you are drunk."
He laughed a bit. "Part drunk. I still no what happens out here." He said motioning around his head. "But it is sometimes nice."
She was quiet for a moment and watched him. She looked up at the sky. It was beautiful. She found herself putting her head on his shoulder.
James felt something on his shoulder and looked over. He smiled as he saw Delilah lay her head on him. "This is where you can usually find me most night. The stars always know how to cheer someone up."
She stared up at the sky as well. "Then your my stars then." She said softly and looked at him. "You cheered me up a lot. I didn't know that you needed to be cheered up as well."
His smile fades a bit for a second and then brightened again. "What do you mean? I'm fine." He said with an over dramatic laugh
"One of the most common lies is: I'm fine." She said lifting her head. She looked at him. "It's okay to admit your not okay." She put a hand on his shoulder. "I'm here for you okay?"
James looked at her and smiled. "Thanks but really I'm ok. Just.... A lot in mind." He said with a smile. 'If I tell you, then that's probably goodbye.' He thought quietly. "And you need anything I'm here too."
She smiled. "Thank you." She said softly and happily. She hadn't really had someone to be there for her. It felt safer.
He looked at his phone seeing the time. "Oh about time to wrap up the party." He said as he got up and took another drink of his beer. He held his hand out to Delilah. "Coming?"
She looked at his hand and nodded. She gently took it and then got up. She walked with him back to the party. She hoped nothing chaotic happened.
James walked in and looked around. Everyone was still dancing as he walked through the people. He saw Greg and started to walk over seeing him argue with someone. "What's going on?" James asked as Greg looked at him for help. "This dude stole my beer!" The younger boy yelled
Delilah managed to push her way through people and heard what Greg was saying. "It's there tons of beer though?" She asked him.
"YeAh but this was mine!" Greg yelled angrily and looked at the guy who was drinking. Greg shoved him through his anger causing the boy to his the wall. James stepped in front of Greg. "Dude chill I'll buy you a new one." He said trying to calm him down before getting shoved back by Greg
Delilah looked at Greg. "Hey! Don't shove him." She was nervous about saying it, but said it regardless. "It's just a drink. It's meaningless to get worked up about it."
