"Your father is dead" I remember clearly that was what my the bakery owner told me after hearing the news himself. I was shocked at first, but my family needed me. They still need me.
I don't know what I was thinking when I said that I'd hated him, my own father, not the bakery own, my own father, I told my own father I hate you. Those were the last words that I'd ever said to my father.


I sat on the steps of my house, crying about what had just happened. That was when I noticed the owner of the bakery. "Karina, there is something I have to tell you." He said to me. I looked up and wondered what is was that he had to tell me. "Your father is dead" The owner of the bakery said to me. I was shocked. "Has my family received the news yet?" I asked. "I told your sister. She told your mother." The owner of the bakery replied to me. I said nothing to him. I went back to staring off into space and he left.


After father died, my family was poor. It turned out my father had wasted all of his money on his job. I was 15 by then. My sister, Kira, was only 12 at this time. I walked out to the market to do what I had to help the family. I decided this would be the one and only time I would sign up for a Tessera. My mother told me not take it, but I had to, it was the only way I could help the family survive.


I stood there silently with the rest of the kids from my district in my age group. I looked around only to notice some were talking. My sister was standing in her age group. "Welcome to the Reaping. This year's male tribute for district 5 is....." The escort said. I waited patiently to find out who the male tribute would be. "Derek Stone" The escort read aloud from the paper she/he had picked from the bowl of names. "Well now for the girl tribute for this year. This year's girl tribute is...." The escort said and put her hand into the bowl of names. "Karina Castro." The escort read the name out loud. I stepped up to the stage, while Derek was still on the stage.

Karina is extremely strong-willed. She took the tessera even though her mother told Karina not to. Karina often does things her way and she does not like doing them her mother's way. Karina got this trait from her father.


Karina does what she wants and nobody stops her, well usually nobody stops her. She is always rebelling against her mother, like the time that Karina took the tessera. Karina does not like being told what to do, it is just part of her rebellious trait. She got this trait from her mother.

Early life:
When he was 12 he encountered a gang of boys who hated his family. He received a bad beating, so that's how he got the scar above his lip.

Before the Reaping:

He signed up for several Tesserae (I think that's how you spell it) and won a large bet on this one kid a year before in the last hunger games. The bet was how long the kid from district 12 would live for. It turned out only to be barely a day.

Reaping:
His best friend was picked out as a tribute. Flint wanted to wait till he was 17 to volunteer as tribute. But hell! He volunteered for the hell of it and his best friend lived to see anther "free" day!

Personality: Cunning, resorceful, respectful, brave (but not stupid) and he tends to chase after leadership rolls.

History: Ariel was born in the Seam to Samuel Fawley and Rebecca Winters when they were both only 16 years old. Ariel';s grandparents kicked her mother out of the house for being pregnant and she and Samuel saved up some money to buy a small house( Hovel) of there own. They got married when Rebecca was 6 months along. A few weeks after Ariel's birth was reaping day and Rebecca was picked as district 12's female tribute for that year. Samuel was devastated and held out hope that his wife would win and come home to them but she didn't. Samuel was left on his own to care for an 8 week old baby.
Her family were just like any other in the Seam- very poor and struggling for food but they managed as her father earned enough to keep the two of them alive.

Ariel soon grew up into a curious little girl who wanted to know why she didn't have a mother like so many of the other children. Her father wouldn't tell her and eventually she found out from her grandmother who regretted her actions towards her daughter and helped her father raise her. Ariel was understandably upset about this.


She managed to move on from this tragedy and she started the local school when she was 8 years old as her father was overprotective of her. She made friends and was happy as she could possibly be with people dying of starvation around her.

At 12 years old her father contracted TB and couldn't work no longer so the family was taken in by her grandparents. They were starving as with no one working there was no food. Ariel being a fairly pretty child went out begging and the richer towns people took pity on her and gave her food and occasionally money. With this money she brought cloth that she made clothes out of to sell at the hob.

Her life has remained much the same since then with her dads condition only getting worse.

He only had to kill two people during the games, yet even so, he has never forgiven himself for it. Yohan was just desperate enough to survive that he would actually end two lives to go back home.

True, the mentors are supposed to instruct the tributes in any means necessary, and this allows them to be cruel to the tributes as well, but Yohan isn’t as forthcoming as some of the other mentors. Yohan has a way with persuading people and understanding why people do what they do, even if it seems to make absolutely no sense to other people. Even if the tributes that he has spent what seems like an eternity training with them when it has only been a few days, Yohan will still remember them for the rest of his life.

When he was four years old he started training for the games so he could bring honour to his family and district. He learned how to use a sword, spear, bow and arrow and many other weapons as well as hand to hand combat.
He still had time for an active social life though as he got older. He spent a lot of time at parties and flirting with girls who quite often fell at his feet due to his good looks and natural charm.

He also saw how unfair the games were and wants to make them stop. Julien was reaped when he was 10 years old and killed all the tributes. He is known as the child killer throughout Panem. Juilen is trying to plan a revolt but he is not sure whether it will work or not. He believes that the people have a right to elect their own leader and have more power than they do now.

Enjolras is very argumentative as is normally shown in his arguments with Grantaire. He is described as chaste by his friends as he looks down on flirting with women but what they don't know is that Enjolras has had his fair share of lovers both male and female. He can be charming and flirtatious when he wants to be. He doesn't believe in love. He is also very courageous, he isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in. While he hates violence he will use it if he thinks the outcome is worth it. He is a very compassionate man who wants to help make the people lives better and he is also a very good leader.
