Triss, your parents don't know what they're talking about. They're idiots.
You are a treasure to the world, and anyone who doesn't see that is probably blind. You're amazing; smart, kind, funny, artistic, passionate, talented… I could go on and on. If they give you away, then it's probably for the better, because they're not good parents. They should love you and adore you all they can before you grow up and leave.

To sum it all up, you're awesome, so don't feel like trash just because they're threatening to do that. They're the trashy ones.

Aww thanks. Even if all that was untrue, thanks But you're the best you know that? I think my mom is just...dealing with some internal problems and is lashing them out on me. So yeah. Thats the way my life works. Always has always will. I probably won't get sent away, she'll stop for a couple months than I'll be back in this position and over and over again.

Asmaa: Hahaha. Well I'm Pakistani and Burmese except more Pakistani because thats more where I spent my life/I'm more familiar with the culture and stuff. When I was in 4th grade my mom once told me that if she died and I had no family to go to, she could have made it her last wish to marry me off and I'd be forced to be a wife at a young age and that idea just creeped me out. Thank god brown people have huge families. xD But at the same time its a bit hard to remember whos who and yeah.

Triss: dude the whole early marriage thing is really creepy. Obviously my parents can't and wouldn't ever force me into marrying someone but I know people who married super early because their parents pressured them into it...also it's the massive age differences that creeps me out.
I know what you mean, though. My parents are really bad at dealing with stress and they always take it out on everyone else but overall they're okay. Mostly I just ignore my mom when she goes off on her long rants. My dad's cool. He just has a lot of...high expectations when it comes to school and stuff.

I think it must be a dad thing XD But the thing about my dad is that if I fall short of his expectations he'll be a little disappointed and he'll tell me what he thinks, but he doesn't shout or make me feel bad about it. seriously. if you can't tell yet, i adore my dad, he's really cool XD

Kate: Nah, I think it's more of the Indian culture where people marry early and its arranged and all. Doesn't have to do with religion. Like, my mom married when she was 26 or 28, i forget. My dad is a year or two older than her, so he was like 27/28/29 or whatever. and it wasn't arranged, i don't think. Like, my mom would freak out if I wanted to get married right now. She's just half-kidding-half-angry when she says that she'll get me married.
