So, when I'm making a journal, does it need to go in the folder of the first letter of the title, or the first letter of my name?

Sure! When you edit the title it should give you the option to hangs the folder. If you're still having trouble with it let me know and i'll do it for you! :)

Suggestion- Now that this grouping is growing in members, It's clear that ppl will join in the hopes of promoting stuff. Maybe there should be a thread created specifically for advertising, this will avoid spamming and unwanted socializing.

I have a (Promote your writing) thread in one of my groups for the same purpose and its worked out well. Maybe here you could just have an Advertising/Promotion thread for published authors or something. idk just a thought

Also, I decided that I'd rather have people PM me instead of comment on my journal. Is there a way that comments that aren't mine can be deleted? Or could I maybe recreate my thread?
