SOLVED. A bomb goes off; Christian Book Store version of "Under The Dome" [s]

I found a cheap book at the local Family Christian Book Store back in 2009/2010. It was about a town where a bomb goes off and suddenly the whole town is trapped inside a "dome" kind of area made of mist, and they cannot reach the outside world. Oh, and if they step into the mist they are transported into a wooded type of other realm. There are also weird monster creatures on the loose, killing people. The book is a massive cliff hanger, and when I looked online at the time there was no real info about another book being made. Now, I cannot remember the name of it to look it up again!! UGH!!!!

This sounds like Vanished by Kathryn Mackel.

Although I don't know if would have been sold at a Christian bookstore, Stephen King's The Mist is a possible match.
