The book, as much as i can remember, is about a teen and a couple friends going to another place (island or town i dont remember) the main character is a male and is a teen or young adult if i remember correctly. He goes to this other town and i remember that he was going to buy a horse and he wa able to calm the horse down (as it was a very skittish horse) by making it understand that he is aligned with order. he then buys the horse and leaves the town. i dont remember much after other than he has a staff used by the order masters adn eventually he has to fight someone who uses magic and he tried to break the staff on his leg to gain the upper hand but end up hurting himself because its solid wood. and then he remembers that if he wills the staff to break with order it would break so he thinks *break!* and he slams it on his knee again and the staff breaks releasing pent up order power or magic that is in the staff. its not enough to defeat his opponent but it gives him an edge. and then i remember that he did something like using the order power to surround the enemy and cut him off from magic or air or something. He then leaves and i dont know if he talks to his dad or someone else but he tells them what he did to defeat the enemy and the older gentleman he spoke to was surprised because most of the order masters who are much more experienced couldnt do that.
