If you're going to be roleplaying, do yourself a favor and read take a look at these rules. There are quite few, I know, but all of them are there for your (and the group's) benefit.

1. Godmodding and powerplaying are explicitly forbidden. I assume that because you joined a roleplay group, you know what these are--but just in case you don't, here's an elaboration. Godmodding (also known as powerplaying) is a term which refers to the acts of giving your character abilities not mentioned in their character profile, creating a character that is outlandishly powerful, or taking control of another person's character during a roleplay. It is, as aforementioned, completely and utterly verboten.

2. This is an original character roleplay. No exceptions. Characters created for the purpose of RP in this group are to be 100% original. You may not use a character from a comic book, television show, book, webseries, et cetera in this roleplay. Characters created are to be designed for this RP and it must be your own, no ifs ands or buts about it. And on that note...

3. Characters must be approved by a Moderator before roleplaying. You do not have permission to roleplay with your character if it has not been approved by myself or another Moderator. If you attempt to roleplay with a character who has not been approved, you will be asked to delete your roleplay post until approval has been given.

4. If you are asked to change or correct an aspect of your character profile, do so. Arguments over the legitimacy of any critique given by a Moderator or senior member about a character should be kept to a minimum. If we ask you to correct something, please do so--we don't critique characters because we like to listen to ourselves type, we do it because we want to help you. If you do decide to argue with a Moderator over changes requested (without good reason) you will be given a warning. Further offense may merit the deletion of your character profile entirely.

5. You must invite another member to roleplay with you before posting on an RP topic. Done in chat, inviting someone to roleplay with you is a way to keep unnecessary posts out of roleplay topics. Once you and another member (you may not roleplay with yourself) have agreed on a pair to take out, you may roleplay. Please refrain from posting before then.

6. Side chat during roleplay is to be done in the appropriate fashion. If you wish to speak with another person while you're roleplaying with them (usually a brief remark, critique, or need) you must use a set of brackets around your text: (()), [], or {}. You are not to speak out-of-character on a roleplay thread if you are not using brackets.

7. You may not create a significant other for your own character. Someone else needs to do that.

8. Only one roleplay is allowed in each thread at a time. Two roleplays cannot take place in the same topic at the same time. Both roleplays then become difficult to track, and nobody wants that.

9. Explicit roleplay between characters is not forbidden, however... There are limitations. Violence, strong language, and sensuality are to be kept PG13 at all times. If anything is to get over PG13, a warning must be posted at the top of a post e.g., "May contain graphic violence or sensuality." Something of that nature. This does not need to be done with strong language.

10. Roleplay posts are to be written in third person, past tense. Speech goes inside of quotation marks ("") and thoughts should be written in italic text.
