I really enjoyed The Diviners. The Diviners was about a 17 year old girl named Evie who gets exiled from her hometown and is then sent to live in New York City. Although she gets banished, she's more than excited to be moving to New York City. When she finally arrives she moved in with her uncle Will. She's happy to be living with someone familiar, like her Uncle but she is scared that her supernatural powers (to look into people's pasts) will be revealed, which isn't a good thing because it's gotten her in to trouble in the past which is the reason while she got banished. A young girl eventually gets murdered and with her body is a symbol and Evie's uncle is called down to the scene. Evie soon realizes that her supernatural power could be a huge help to this crime and she could help find answers. While investigating with the murder, the murderer, and the victim, Evie soon comes across other's stories like a young guy who's stuck between two worlds. Evie also realizes that a dark and evil spirit has been awakened in the streets on New York City. This book was definitely an excellent book filled with mystery and suspense. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars because, at the beginning i was a little lost and it was a bit slow. i was confused as to why she got banished but soon realized it further into the story. Also, the book was placed in the 1920s so that also caused a lot of confusion because there wasn't much i couldn't relate to, it actually helped me learn more about the 1920s. I would definitely reccomd this book to others. Mostly to teens, young adults, and others if they like mystery and suspense.
