Katrina (katrinasreads) This book is set in the 1980's in the Republic of Ireland during the political hunger strikes which errupted as a way to gain freedoms in the prisions.
Fergus' brother is in prison participating in the hunger strikes, Fergus is being made to carry packages over the boarder to Northern Ireland as well as studying for his A levels and falling in love.
Fergus also discovers the body of a child preserved in the marshes. As Fergus' story is told the 'Bog Child' Mel speaks to him in his dreams and we hear her story.
Although there seems a lot going in the story never feels cluttered or ott, and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good read

Misty | 1505 comments I know this made some "best" lists (I think it was on the ALA's best ya books of the year). I brought it home from the library and then didn't get a chance to so much as open it before it was due. I'll have to try again when I get a chance.
