Rhysand ~ Character Discussion

I have seen a lot of people pronouncing the intial part 'Rhys' as 'Rice" and SJM in an interview corrected the youtuber regarding that.

I've always pronounced Rhysand as Rise-and. I know that's not how you pronounce it but I like Rise-and so much better than Rees-and. I pronounce Rhys as Rice/Rise, too.

I knew I loved Rhys the second we met him at calanmai! At the time I did like tam the tool but seriously when just came up and out his arm around her I was in love. I have a weakness for "bad guys" with dark hair and vibrant eyes. It's kinda my thing, even if they are completely evil in other cases

I have a weakness for "bad guys" with dark hair (and usually blue/hazelish eyes) in literature too! Some of my favorites include Will Herondale *swoon*, Rhysand (obviously), Cassian (I can't help it, he's so great I just love him), Dorian (my baby), and Julian Blackthorn (although he has dark brown hair).

I think I've loved Rhysand since the first time we met him, too. He's just such a complex character. (view spoiler)[And in Ch. 54? of ACOMAF, when he explained to Feyre about the first time they met at Calanmai, and how his first words ("There you are, I've been looking for you.") weren't a lie (like I originally thought), because he had been looking for her, I died of happiness. Wow, that sentence made absolutely no sense. (hide spoiler)]

Sejal, what's Julian from? That sentence made sense to me! I was so happy when he confessed all of those things. I thought he was just acting the first time they met, but he wasn't.

YES! Julian blackthorn is definitely one of my favorites! As well as will (I'll actually start drooling I love him haha) and cassian AND AZRIEL and I also LOVE the darkling from the shadow and bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo! But Rhys is definitely my new all time favorite!

And Julian is from Cassandra Clare's Dark artifices series!! The first book is called Lady midnight and it's amazing!

Of course, I love Azriel as well! And the darkling seems like an interesting character, although I've only read the first two books from that series. Also, you mentioning Leigh Bardugo reminded me of KAZ! How could I forget Kaz Brekker!?

Julian is from The Dark Artifices series, you should definitely check them out! They're amazing!

Story time:
My little brother is 3 years old and he has a toy of Buzz Lightyear. When he clicks a button, it says a phrase like "Im the best" and "I can shoot lasers". He talks about his wings alot, Buzz and this one time my brother clicked the button and Buzz said, "CHECK OUT THAT WINGSPAN" I NEARLY DIED OF TRYING NOT TO LAUGH

honestly same. Rhysand is that character who puts up a facade for the outside world to see a completely opposite version of who he truly is on the inside.

rhysand has always been my favourite character even in acotar. he just intrigued me that much that I fell in love with him. just everything about him is well thought of by Sarah to make his character alluring

Honestly i wouldn't have minded seeing Rhysand go toe-to-toe with the weaver. I loved him in the first book and he only became stronger as the series progressed.

I love and hate Rhysand's protective nature. He really goes to the ends of Prythian for the ones that he loves. I honestly would not mind seeing Rhysand and Tamlin fight it out and then have a honest conversation afterwards.

Oh my god I've literally been dying for more information about his sister. Glad I'm not the only one. We don't even know her name! I kinda like just thinking that Cassian and Azriel were practically her brothers too and them and Rhys were just overprotective and glaring suspiciously at any other male that came near her while Mor encourages her to go talk to males and all that and I just want to read about big brother Rhys.

But also I just love Rhys as a character. He's gone through so much and he honestly just deserves to live happily and quietly for a couple centuries with Feyre. He deserves a break. My heart has been like crying nonstop since forever from all the books I read. I love authors and appreciate them for the wonderful books and characters they give us but sometimes I wish they would give their characters a break and not hurt them so much. Yeah, I also know that the crap characters have gone through make them who they are but still.
