SOLVED. It's a teen/YA book about a girl who gets questioned in every other chapter. [s]

The cover had a dark purple background with shiny purple branches all over the cover except for the middle which had white swirly text. I read the book about 1 1/2 years ago but it may have been published before that, maybe 2010 onwards. It was about a girl who found a friend around the same age as her but she lived in a different 'community'. At the end the house she lived in with many others burned down along with her dad. The book was in paper back but could be in another format. I hope you can find the book from my description. Thanks.

And why did you put community in quote marks? Why was the different community important?

I think the time period was the present and I put "community" because I didn't know what to call it and people in the book didn't like what they were doing

Just from the cover description, my first thought was either Space between Trees or Sweetly.

Oh I think I might know what this is. It sounds really like by Sarah Singleton. The community in this book was a cult, and it ends the same way. The questioning element was also there, though I'm not entirely sure if it happened in every chapter Hope this helps!
