Cindy Does Anyone actually know why this is called Hush, Hush. I feel like this is one of the only book series I know that the titles don't correspond to the story at all, unless I am missing something. I mean besides Finale because it's the last book even Silence and Crescendo make no sense to me. I read the books a while back and to this day I have still have been trying to figure it out, I don't know maybe she just thought the titles sounded cool. Anyone know or have any theories?

T.D. Edwards It's been a while since I read that series. I'm guessing the titles have something to do with the secrecy surrounding the fallen angels and who Patch really is...?

Although I've never read the books, the titles of "Hush, Hush", "Silence", and "Crescendo" do have relevance.

This is just from the top of my head but all three books are referencing sound and, from that, sets the pace or action that will be found in each book.

That's exactly what I was thinking as well but at the same time I just find it such a strange title for the book. Then I thought if each book is referring to the intensity of pace of each book Silence should be named something else that increases the sound from Crescendo. But yeah my thinking was along the lines of what you wrote.

Actually, if you think of it as music, the author titled them in the correct order.
Just like a score of music, you reach the climax and then it falls into a moment of silence. Silence is often associated with reflection, finality (I've read the series was initially to be a trilogy) or a shocking discovery.

A good example of this would be in Pocahontas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DE5a... and, since it matches the title of the books perfectly, Mulan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AARl1...

Cindy If she had planned on ending it with Silence then yeah it makes sense. I liked the Mulan video it matches what you are saying perfectly.

Blanca I agree with both of you,Hush, as it silence but also as in a way of rediscovering herself and Patch, using quietness as a tool.

Yup, in Hush, Hush everything was unknown and secret, plus theres an expression somewhere about 'hush of angels wings', so Ive always thought tied in indirectly as a clue to the theme of the story.

Crescendo was the build up. Where all the stakes were raised.

And Silence often proceeds a storm or follows explosive events. Sometimes silence is given in prayer or out of respect for the fallen after tragedy or in remembrance of battle. And I think Patch was still with holding things back and she felt conflicted.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood Hush, Hush- Things were very secret and Nora wasn't suppose to know that Patch was a fallen angel.

Crecendo- The big lead up and the stakes were raised.

Silence- Nora lost her memory because Frank brain washed her. So she couldn't say who kidnapped her or anything else. So when you think about it- She was kind of silenced in a way.

Blanca Okey, thank you very much for the explanation.
