M.A. Nichols (manichols) I need help and I am reaching out to you, oh great book group, to help me. I need feedback for my book and my friends and family are wonderful and supportive, but unable to give me the constructive criticism I need. Telling me it's good doesn't help at all. Don't get me wrong, I love to hear that, but I'm looking for a stranger who has no emotional connection to me or fear of hurting my feelings to look at my book and give me useful feedback on whether it's a good story and where the problems lie. I'm not looking for an editor or someone to pick apart grammar and typos, but someone to look at the plot and characters.

Here's a basic rundown of the book. It's the first part of The Shadow Army Trilogy and is roughly 89,000 words. It's a YA urban fantasy with no romance or raging teenage hormones, but plenty of action. The book blurb I've been working on is:

"Jake always knew he was odd. Only odd people sense things no one can see. And only the exceptionally odd are able to make those invisible somethings do impossible things. The few people who knew the truth called him crazy. His own father refused to acknowledge it, up until the moment the man disappeared. Gone in a poof of smoke, he vanishes, abandoning Jake to strangers in a hidden world beyond his imagination. Confused and scared, Jake searches for the truth about his father while deadly forces hunt him."

Does that sound interesting to you? Are you someone who reads YA novels and can give useful, constructive feedback on plot and character? If so, then this might be the book for you. Do I sound like a infomercial yet? Act now!

If you're interested, comment on this post and I'll contact you. I can email you a copy in the format of your choice (including .mobi for a Kindle or Kindle app).
