RaiRaiKen | 76 comments I'm from Southeast Asia, so many of the activities/events/words/phrases (although the setting is on the 19th century) is foreign to me. But the best thing about GH's novels is they make me believe I'm part of the story.

I'm 89% done with False Colours (found a copy in a secondhand bookstore), and I think it's brilliant :D

One Drive is Microsoft's cloud storage facility - like Apple's I-cloud. You have to subscribe so you would know if you are using it!

This has nothing to do with Goodreads so it must be your other group.

I'm glad you found it!

I loooove this definition.

I feel covered with shame that I misspelled definitely in my original post. UGH!

I would not be married and living in Illinois if my first boss had only asked, "Can you spell?" Since she didn't ask, I didn't say . . . and became an editor!

Oh, Lori, that made me chuckle! She didn't ask, so you didn't have to tell!

I most definitely noticed the misspelling, but I was being polite. We're a polite group here, and a bunch of chucklers, too, I think- not to be confused with chuckleheads.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ Hi everyone! Yes I'm quite sure One Drive nothing to do with us. I should be home later today but my Ak sister unwell so will make decision later today. I have read some threads but find the GR app a bit frustrating. see u soon!

RaiRaiKen | 76 comments Has anyone finished reading the book? I'm a little disappointed with the ending. It was a little mellow or "quiet" compared to others.

It just kind of moves back to Kit and Evelyn and their mama, doesn't it? But I love that Bonamy isn't going to be tormented but, rather, lovingly taken care of. Maybe he won't even notice it!

Honestly, I think if you removed the last two or three chapters, and inserted the scene where everything is solved, the book would have been shorter and ended perfectly. But oh well! I also love that Sir Bonamy's going to get leg-shackled, but at least it's with a beautiful woman :D

On a side note: can anyone tell me the difference between a phaeton, coach, etc (modes of transportation)? I know Google is always on the ready, but I sometimes get lost in it.

Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ A coach is covered. For long distances. Usually driven by a coachman. A phaeton is uncovered, driven by the owner & a bit more racy.

That barouche in the first link is beautiful!

Lori Mulligan Davis | 196 comments This web page displays a high perch phaeton. It shows why Augustus Fawnhope says, "Its proportions are absurd!"

The following web pages get you to two illustrated articles on Regency transportation. They are from my Jane Austen Society's website (JASNA--Greater Chicago Region) and written by my friend Sue Forgue.

Karlyne Landrum | 3895 comments All of those links are so fun! I haven't decided which one I'll have yet.
