Mine is classics(we could read one if you're up for it), also I like good contempory, fantasy, horror, mystery/thriller, new adult.

I love Thomas Hardy, George Elliot, Vladimir N., James Joyce, Bronte, Henry James, John Steinback etc etc
I like Margaret Atwood, Khaled Hosseini, Carlos RZ, Stephen King, etc etc
I can read a classic any day!
And for several days I'm starving for a good french or a russian classic. and if you're not allergic to classics(some people are). Lets choose a book from each (I've 2 books of each in mind :D)
No YAs please... I dont enjoy them.(99%)
I can read sci fi, mystery, legal, good non-forced-soppy romance.
So throw in a few suggestions if you choose latter.

The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox(Fantasy)
The House of Silk: A Sherlock Holmes Novel(mystery)
Shinju(mystery, Historical)
Going Postal

Till then you check these out and tell me if you like any
The Kite Runner
Please Look After Mom
Les Misérables
The Handmaid's Tale
The Tenant of Wildfell Hall
North and South

Well I usually read atleast 10-12 books in a month. Its 30 days afterall! So suit yourself... we could read just one here, if you want. I'm totally fine either way. :)

Fer-de-Lance
Tell No One
The Godwulf Manuscript
Standing in Another Man's Grave
Two for the Dough

What are your impressions?

But I'll try to start soon. Glad you're enjoying the book :)

I completed 38% of the book... Its going quite interesting so far?
Have you read the previous books of Rebus?

I thought the cold case is interesting. The guy Cafferty was a nemesis for Rebus. It's weird to see them together. I liked the pubs and people described.
I thought, for such an ongoing series it was quite freshly written. My rating is hovering around 3.5.
What of your impression?

When I read Exit Music, I was hoping Rebus would return. And he did with a bang! I really enjoy the way Rankin writes his character. The other characters especially Fox is quite a treat.
And you are right Rankin has a great sense of place and people.
I would rate 3.75 for now.
