Kirsten (kmcripn) Have you read the one by Wiley Cash? Though, I don't know what Deep South is... hopefully, this qualifies: A Land More Kind Than Home.

Or the books by Greg Iles?

Julesy | 1413 comments Not sure how many thriller recommendations you will get since this is a cozy mystery group. ;-)

Books by Greg Iles is a good choice.
Erica Spindler (one of my favorite thriller authors) writes almost all her thrillers based in Louisiana.
Karin Slaughter and Kay Hooper have series based in Georgia.
Bill Crider has several series based in Texas.

Did you have a particular state in mind?

This series by Ellen Elizabeth Hunter is one of my favorite series. I love it! However, I certainly wouldn't classify those books as "thriller". It's definitely a cozy mystery series.

Catherine Dennington | 635 comments Sorry about that. So here's one that might be classified as a thriller: Blood Orchid (Holly Barker #3) by Stuart Woods The Amazon description says it is a suspenseful adventure.

Tina Waving Backwards A Savannah Novel by V.L. Brunskill
I was raised in Savannah Georgia. It's a beautiful city and am so glad I walked those street and saw the beautiful sites before it became a tourist attraction. The Original Savannah. Beautiful. So some of you miht be interested because of the beautiful scenery and history. Not sure if I can wait to see if I win or run to the bookstore 45 miles away and buy it!!!

Leslie I don't know if these fit the thriller category but most of John Grisham's books are set in the South -- The Client for example I think is mostly in Tennessee.

I thinks that's more of a cozy than a thriller. It looks like a fun read.

Lacey (she2beautiful) | 13659 comments Tami Hoag writes really good thrillers set in the south, my personal favorite is A Thin Dark Line.

Julesy | 1413 comments I thought of a few more that may fit in the thriller category. Coincidentally, these are all set in Florida:

Holly Barker series by Stuart Woods
Arch McNally series by Lawerence Sanders
anything by Carl Hiassen
anything by Tim Dorsey
