Do you think it gets better with each book, or less good?

I agree with you. The first four to five books are a lot of fun. But the later books aren't as gripping. There ARE some great scenes in the later books but on the whole I don't remember the later books very vividly. A lot of this is due to plot lines bloat. More time passes in the four books than the last 10.

Sanderson did a decent job of tying up loose ends and giving closure, but I didn't enjoy them much. If you go for the rest of the series I would recommend skimming or skipping chapters that you aren't interested in . For me I would read the first four and then mainly the parts about/from the view of Rand and Mat for the rest.

I felt the same. Some parts of the last few books weren't nearly as well-written as I would've liked them to be. Both the Children of the Light as the Seanchans deserved more elaborate descriptions and story time.
