lord of the flies, Buddy Read! :) [[Oct. 2022. ]]

Ancient huh , wow that doesn't bode well for the future 💀.
It does pass but boy is it a struggle when you're in the moment :P

The goal is to share our thoughts and experiences about the book with the group. Sort of like a shared thought-space.
Which reminds me we didn’t actually do that. 😂
I’ll share my views in like two days (hopefully :P). Looking forward to hearing all of yours people!
Guys keep one thing in mind that your suggestion should be appropriate for a buddy read and not just the next book on your reading list that you want to read... We will finalise the read by eid and start after eid as I'm guessing no one will be reading eid vacations...

I liked the book, and if I were recommending it to someone I'd say it's worth a light read, give it like a 60% percent chance of enjoyment. The book had some really good areas once you really got into it but I felt like the starting was really slow, it missed that spark that hits the target in my reader's-brain dart-board and lights it all up; hence, the 60%. I had a difficult time focusing on the story at the start, though I gobbled it up real quick once I passed the one-third mark.
I liked how the characters were thought-out and also, the relationship between Bailey and her step-mom (her name escapes me atm) was quite well thought out. The writing was good, I enjoyed the sentence structure (I have a thing about poetic, incomplete, short sentences. Don't judge me.), but surprisingly, as I was searching for my favorite quotes from the book, I realized I didn't highlight anything (weird ._.). Oh, but I was so thankful for that bittersweet ending!
Off the top of my head, this is my take on the book. I'll keep adding to it as we move along the discussion of course.
Correction:
I DID HIGHLIGHT A QUOTE! YES!!
“This is the terrible thing about a tragedy. It isn't with you every minute. You forget it, and then you remember it again.”
This quote resonated with me on a surreal plane.
Guys, Vote for the book you want to be read in the buddy read.

Getting ass-blasted by responsibilities. What you need?

Too late to vote as always :(
Anyways what we reading guys I'll attempt to be less of a dead fish this time around

Absolutely not. I did not last 5 pages before deciding I don't want to waste my time on 'reading for facts'.

So far so good. I remember there was this list of 30 books you have to read in your lifetime and I shelved almost all of them. The Trial was one of them.
It’s also nice that we’re moving out of our usual YA comfort-zone.
I’m very much excited to see how it goes with everyone else in the group. xD

Reading comments about the book giving good vibes but I think I won't be able to join due to my final exams :/

Break a leg!🤞
