Same pinch, too slow. First few chapters I enjoyed the slow pace then it kinda got irritating. Don't mind.

I think I read a lil too much too ._. like I finished reading the book😅
It was kinda slow but it got better gradually and I liked the fact that it wasn't an average cliche.

There many of its retelling. I have 2-3 of them.
Most common retellings are that of the Beauty & the Brast. :)

Wow! Today's task was amazing! I didn't expect this side of the retelling. But I'm quite enjoying it.
(view spoiler)[--The Stepmother is cruel all the same here but the stepsisters are different. One of them wants to please everyone and the other one just wants to please her mother.
--Hey, do you see how Mother's role here? A ghost? Woooah! There are just talks about her being very dangerous to those who make Maia cry. Maia tends to not cry to save people from her mother's rage. I liked this fact. I hope there would be more of that.
--Lord Anax is fine... At first he just wanna marry any random girl and then he falls in love with Maira. I saw that coming. Nothing special here.
--And yeah, I got some Cruel Beauty references here. Ahan... that's a clever way of using the prince of demon here.. Anyway, if you haven't read that novel, you would still be okay with it.

The first five chapters explain Miai and her background. She takes the letters her stepsister Koré sends to Lord Anax. Anax and Maia talk about their respective lives without fearing that the other would judge. I like their conversation. Although hints are dropped from the beginning, chapter five explains in detail we know why Maia is always pretending to be happy.
