I haven't read Lord of the Flies, but I did come across an article where it was stated that the same thing that happened in the book—a group of boys getting stranded on an island—actually happened in real life as well. However, the real-life outcome was a lot different than what was described in the book.
Here's the link to the article if you anyone is interested in checking it out:

I suggest you read it after the book though. The article compares the book's ending to the real-life outcome, so reading it first might spoil the book for you.
Anyway, I found it interesting, so I thought I'd share :-)

Y’all maybe we should start reading and if anyone else wants to join they can, whenever? What do you guys say?

Thank you so much for the invite @Zarshal. I would have loved to join you guys, but I'm reading another book series, and I'm enjoying it too much to leave it at this point. But you guys enjoy Lord of the Flies. I'll hopefully join you next time. Happy Reading :-)

AlthoughI have read half way through some years ago and I do remember it in parts xD

This is the hallmark of a great personality that even through transfigurations it remains what it always set out to be.

Hullo , nice to have you back
Oh and it's actually Genio 3.0 , you missed the Jogi Badmaash era

@Uzair, nah I was here in that era... just was less active. How are you doing?

Funny how the both of us still refer to him as Genio hahaha. We're like one big family and Genio plays the caring but also brooding older brother.
Yes that era was quite dead for the group wasn't it
Other than that things are going swimmingly Alhumdulilah. Recently got back into reading and am learning to enjoy the finer genres.
Hbu?

Acha good. I too am trying to get back into reading and nothing would be more helpful than this thread. I have been experiencing reader's block (if that's a thing) since 2 years or so. Went from reading 50-60 books per year to 1-2 book. I even tried new genres but nah, didn't work. Infact ended up starting multiple readings of multiple genres.

Lord of the Flies is like mid-way between boring and bearable. But it’s interesting in places too. Not too bad.

I'm not too keen on specific genres yet. I haven't heard of that series but I'll check it out ;)

I read a few books of "In Death" series a long time ago. It's Romantic Suspense with a touch of Science Fiction, right? As far as I remember, I enjoyed the books I read, but I then moved on to other genres. Currently I'm on a Romantic Suspense spree though, so I might check out the later books of the series one of these days. See if I still enjoy it :-)
The series I'm reading nowadays actually falls under the same category. Romance, Mystery, and Thriller. Plus a bit of Science Fiction. I'm enjoying it so far. My only issue is some of the Romantic scenes are too explicit for me. Still, the books are good enough that I don't mind having to skip a few pages here and there. I especially appreciate the underlying theme of family bond and loyalty :-)
Anyway, I'm very much into Romantic Suspense these days. If you know of any good books in this genre then please do let me know.
Here are some I've already read and enjoyed:

Thank you :-)

Elif Shafak I never gave try to. 'The 40 rules of Love' is on my tbr list since a long time. How's it?

I'd recommend Judith McNaught. Old but gold. What's the name of series you're reading these days?

By the way, have you read Hostile Pursuit by Juno Rushdan? I just thought of it because it's a quick and easy read, with enough action to keep the reader fully engaged. It might help you to end your reader's block, especially if you like Romantic Suspense. Just a suggestion :-)
