Athena could also smell Smoke. "Please, don't try and help me." She said as she could make out their paws between the crowding branches. "I love you."

"Why not help you?" She mewed over the rain.

Athena started to breath lighter and slower. "I love all of you. All the same." She said and heaved a breath. "Tell Stream that I know she'll become strong and a ferocious warrior. Tell Star I hope she travels the world. Forest, I love you, son, and I always will. Smoke..." She then started to breath heavy again. "I-I hope you have a great life without me. Th-thank you for b-being my d-daughter."

Smoke started to cry a bit "Y-your welcome..."

"Leave me here." She whispered. The rain started to die down as she said something else. "Tell Starlight I'm sorry. Tell Riverwhisp I hope she's okay. Tell Rosewood and Runner that they were my greatest companions. Tell Leafkit and Cloudkit I hope they grow up strong. Tell Roseclaw I wish her good in the future. Tell Foxfang I'm sorry." She said this quickly.

Smoke sat down and looked up at the sky, she could barely see any stars, despite the rain, she started to pray to Starclan, thanking Athena for taking her in as her own.

Athena realized she couldn't die. She needed to get out of this. But how?

Smoke started to pray more, she still wanted to save Athena, she told them to find Starlight and save her. ((Rawr i knew it wash Starlight >:E))

Athena tried to push and pulled her way out. Her right arm was stuck under the tree truck as well as her whole body. Her head and left paw were free. She stuck out her left forearm for Forest to see.

Smoke kept praying, even though she could smell Starlight a bit.

Smoke finished praying, she leaped over the tree and started to pull branches where her arm was, trying to free it.

Athena could feel the tree start to move and closed her eyes. Then, her other fore leg came free. With that she pushed the tree off of her and just laid there on the ground.

Smoke laid by her, she smiled, even though they were soaking wet.

Athena opened one eye and looked at Forest. "You don't have to." She said shakily. "I love you, Forest. I love all of you. Remember what I said..." She saw Starlight and then closed her eyes.

((I think she should...but maybe Forest could see her spirit at some points?))

Athena breathed one last word. "Ace..." Then, her spirit left her body and traveled to Starclan.

((nuuuuuu Dx)) She started to cry, but she stayed curled up by her mother, she could sleep through the rain.

Athena watched her kits and Starlight mourn over her from afar. She had died a loner. She decided to stay a loner and travel to Starclan at points. But she would always watch over Forest. She then padded silently over to them. "I love you, Forest." She whispered and hoped he would hear.

Athena sat down next to Forest and wrapped her tail around him. "Please don't cry, for I have loved you forever." She whispered. "Please keep going, for I will watch over you. Look back? Never."

Athena closed her eyes sadly. "Don't say that." She whispered and laid down next to Forest. "Forest, take care of your sisters."

Athena stood up and sighed. She wished that Forest could see her one last time. She closed her eyes and thought about it hard.

Athena opened her eyes and looked at Forest. "Grow up strong, Forest." She said but knew he couldn't hear him. "Never forget me." She then started to walk away.

Athena rushed to Forest's side and laid down. "I'm never leaving you." She whispered. "No matter what happens, please know I love you."

Athena took a deep breath. "Forest, I know you're angry." She said.

Stream woke up from her nap, she went over to Smoke, she gasped. "Mom..?" She started to bawl.

"Please, Forest." Athena pleaded. "It's me, Athena. Your mother. I love you! I'll never leave you."

Athena sighed. "I care about you, Forest. I'm your mother. The one who put up with you all these moons. The one who cared for you even if you hated me and called me names. And when I couldn't take it, I kicked you out."

Athena turned away. "What would be one thing that only your mother would know?" She asked herself. Then she turned back to Forest. "It was my fault Riverwhisp hurt you."

Athena laid down and tried to nuzzle Forest but she just slipped through. "I'm sorry." She whispered faintly and drifted away.

Athena sat down in the cave and looked around. "Stay strong, Forest." She said and her sprit left.

Star sat sadly, tears forming in her eyes. Why did her mother have to die? What would she do now? Star looked at her siblings, how would they survive now without Athena to love and take care of them. She crouched down and hid her face under her paws and cried.

Stream laid down next to Star and cried with her. They needed to be together from now on.

Athena watched with sadness. Then, a she-cat appeared in front of her. She told her to come to Starclan. "But why? I'd be leaving them behind!" She yelled. The spirit then drifted away. Athena took a deep breath and walked over to Star. She laid down and watched the eldest kit. "Star, please stay strong. I love you." She whispered. Then she walked to Stream. "Stream, I love you and will never forget you." She then walked to Smoke. "Smoke, thank you for staying. I loved you so much." Then she looked at Forest. "Goodbye, son." She said. Then, she closed her eyes and drifted away.

Smoke wanted to do the good part of clan tradition, she would sleep with her mother until tomorrow, and if the others wanted, they would hide her scent with herbs and bury her.

Stream went next to Smoke now, she looked at her, the tear were still streaming down her face.

Stream looked up to see Forest leaving, "Where are you going."

Stream looked at him, "Starclan knew it was her time, we need to be strong," she said getting up, "Mom would want us be strong."

Stream looked at him, tear still spilled out of her eyes, "Im going to Thunderclan and telling them." She said walking into the forest. She had to tell them, but she was going to them as a friend and that they didn't need their help.

Smoke woke up near her mother, she hid the body's scent and dug a small hole nearby. She then licked her mother's head and nuzzled her fur. Smoke then put the body in the hole and buried her.

Athena watched Smoke and smiled. A single tear rolled down her cheek and landed on the ground below. Athena would always love Smoke. And Star. And Stream. And....Forest.

Smoke put a small flower on the grave and nodded slowly. She then prayed to Starclan for a moment and padded away.

Athena looked around and sighed. She wished they could see her one last time.

Star sighed, she was sitting at the grave Smoke had built for her mother. Her sister was off somewhere to tell ThunderClan and she had no idea where Forest or Smoke had gone. She shuffled her paws and looked around, and up at the sky. Everything seemed so much bigger now that her mother was gone. Star hung her head low and rose to her four paws. She'd have to find some way to survive, even if that meant joining a clan or finding a two-leg nest. Star looked at the exit to the enclosure sadly, wondering if her siblings would chose to stay with her or not.

Leaf walked into the enclosure. Her mouth watered when she saw the fresh kill pile. She padded up to it and took a thrush. Then she laid in the cave and ate it slowly.

Leaf finished the thrush, though her stomach felt empty still. So she took a plump vole and started to eat it.

"Eating. Can't you tell?" Leaf asked and scoffed. She devoured the vole and walked to the small forest. She clawed a tree or two to mark her territory.

Leaf then walked to the cave. She looked at the nest and sighed. She pushed it to the other side of the cave and sat down. She licked her paws and eyed the tom. "Who are you?" She asked.

"Yeah right." She said and laughed. "Athena told me you two were just friends. Ace was her mate."
