I guess this is a well-known book, but I had never heard of it. Despite being dated, I really enjoyed this book. Told from the perspective of a first-year teacher in a low-income high school, you really get a sense for the struggle teachers are up against. All the bureaucratic BS seems particularly relevant with today's mandatory testing and Common Core debates.
