Robert Wright (rhwright) | 30 comments It's been awhile since anything related has come up (that I can find), so I figured I'd get the latest thinking.

What is best practice for handling comixology (e-book) versions of titles like this?

Sometimes, there will be an ISBN listed in the actual file that is the same as another (paperback or hardcover) edition, and we can follow the procedures around that.

In other cases, such as this, there is no ISBN listed in the book or on the site and it should obviously be a unique edition.

Using comixology for a source, I think, shouldn't be a problem, as the DC site (https://www.readdcentertainment.com/T...) is just a skin of the regular comixology site (https://www.comixology.com/The-Flash-...).

Would you leave ISBN blank, or can we use the item number from the URL (48455) as a unique identifier?

I mean, I can always shelve the kindle edition, but they are not one and the same. I would rather have the database reflect reality as close as possible.

Question for me is, does Comixology count as a publisher in this context?

No. It's more like a specific type of ebook. The publisher is still DC, etc.

Aye, I know that, but I was wondering whether for our purposes it counts as both. I would assume not unless Rivka says otherwise...

I don't think it would be a publisher, no.
