Seb I used to read only fantasy books, with some classics like Joyce and Dickens sprinkled in between. However I would like to change that up a bit by reading some good books about normal people, like silver lining play book and infinite jest. I am good with any genre, even romance as long as it's not too romancey.

Thanks for your help with this

Seb Thank you for the article Ted It was pretty cool. However I have already read Infinite Jest and am looking for something like it. An adult fiction book set in modern times.

Ginger Wilson You should read "The Swarm" by frank Shatzing. It's incredible!

Ben Books about normal people? I love IJ but I don't think any of the characters qualify as "normal"

David Pires "The Art of Fielding"! The characters made me like the book so much.

Peter JR by Gaddis is brilliant! a comedy, a love story, a drama, a social commentary, all wrapped into one. No footnotes of course, but almost no punctuation either and frankly, when you get into it you will find you don't need it because you can hear the voices in your head
