Kate S | 6459 comments October 16 is dictionary day. Read a book whose title is made up of words that are in alphabetical order, including articles and conjunctions. One word titles will not qualify for this task.

Tien (tiensblurb) | 3097 comments ascending only or can it also be descending order?

Elizabeth (Alaska) | 14225 comments Ascending only - just as if you were finding the words in the dictionary from front to back.

Elizabeth (Alaska) | 14225 comments Yes, subtitles included.

Anika | 2793 comments Oh my goodness....this whole time I've been trying to find a book where the individual words themselves were words in alphabetical order....just realized it's the words in the title that have to be in alphabetical order...this just got infinitely easier!

Yes, and the letters don't have to be consecutive (A,B,C etc.). They just have to be in alphabetical order: A, D, M for example works.

Kätlin | 174 comments I think that the person who posts the longest title for this task during the Fall Challenge should receive a special honorary mention somewhere :)

It would be really cool to find a book that has a long title and a subtitle, so it all (with articles etc.) would come to let's say 10 or even more alphabetized words!

message 9: by El (new)

El | 300 comments would a book like The Trees work? I'm sure I read somewhere that every word had to start with a different letter but i'm not sure where.
'The Trees' is alphabetical (no I'm not planning to read it i just looked it up for an example)

No, no duplicate first letters. I'm sorry, I think that question was asked/answered in the General Questions thread and I should have copied/pasted over here.

Have I lost my mind? I don't see the General Questions thread!

It's there! Look again! ;-)

Rebekah (bekalynn) I was looking for the answer you gave me when I couldn't think of books for the Dictionary task, before I thought it was every letter. The pools were still up I think but for some reason I can't find the thread with that post. No big deal, I can figure it out what to read but I remember one title you gave me from my To reads list looked like one I wanted to use and now can't remember!
