@chad, I think a lot of us are fighting to keep up with this one & Chapter 10 is a LONG one--I hope to be caught up by Friday.

John Hayes (jhayes27) | 159 comments It starts to really pick up pace making it a lot harder to put down.

Agreed, however, Words of Radiance has dropped and that is taking up most of my reading time--Glyph is almost as great as Book--a really fantastic character for me!

Mik Calow (Vobeskhan) | 19 comments Yep, 10 was a long chapter but so much going on it would have been wrong to split it up. Really enjoyed the descriptions of the druids powers building up during the ritual and the sea battle.

This might have been the shortest of the Sundering novels so far but with the fast pace of the story thoughout it really worked to keep my interest.

With the teasers we've been shown for the the next season of Encounters I'm hoping we see more of Umara and Anton's adventures as they return to Thayan lands.

Justin (berliad) | 128 comments Neat insight, Mik! I'm going to have to watch that more closely. I'm not playing encounters, but I like to keep up on the storylines. I think the tale of Umara's return to Thay could easily work as another novel. I'd certainly buy it!

I finished the book two nights ago. I guess there's an epilogue after chapter 12, but we're largely at the end at this point. This was a very fun section, with a great mixture of high fantasy magic duels and classic swashbuckling action. I got a kick out of the fact that it was Anton who would ultimately be the one to carry Lathander's weapon into battle against Umberlee.

Mik Calow (Vobeskhan) | 19 comments yeah having grown up on the old swashbuckling movies I really enjoyed this aspect of the story :-)

Sorry everyone. I had no idea how long these chapters were, so I think I am going to leave this section as the current section for this week so anyone who may have fallen behind can get caught up.

Next week we can do the Epilogue and closing thoughts and discussions.

Richard Byers (rleebyers) | 10 comments Hi, all. Up to now, I've only commented in the initial thread because that's where people have asked me questions. But I just want to say thanks to everyone who has had kind things to say about the book thus far.

Richard Byers (rleebyers) | 10 comments There will be a sequel if the publisher wants one. I will be happy to write one but am waiting on the go-ahead.

I really hope there is a sequel. I enjoyed meeting these characters and would love to read further adventures.

Justin (berliad) | 128 comments Good way to help encourage WotC to go for sequel: post reviews, everybody, if you haven't already! :)

I'd also be delighted to have a sequel. This was a really fun read, and I'd love to see where Anton & Umara go from here!

Scott (scott_mosher) | 11 comments Just Finished last night. I definitely enjoyed this story! I can still close my eyes and almost hear seagulls and smell the sea air.

I agree with @Berliad, that was a nice twist seeing Anton carrying Lathander's weapon into the final battle. I was scratching my head trying to figure out how little Stedd was going to overcome Evendur. I thought the way Lathander's weapon transferred from Stedd to Anton was too cool!

I know this is the choir praising the preacher; nevertheless, I would buy the squeal to this story! - Can I get an Amen? ;^)
