Jordan Woods I am not a Muslim but I am curious about Islam. I was raised a Christian and became agnostic/atheist when I was 20 or so I am currently 26. I studied Mormonism for awhile Jehovah's witnesses new age stuff as well but something got me interested in Islam and I was wondering if perhaps someone might want to share how they came to know the Quran was true and how to know it is true? Mormonism, asks you to pray to find out but that never worked for me personally so how do I know if it is true?

Shereen Malherbe | 6 comments Jordan,

It is interesting to hear your search to find out the truth. I would say everyone's journey is a personal one. I found that the compelling start to the truths of Islam was the information in the Quran that was revealed 1400 years ago, long before science had confirmed them to be true. This website I found highlights some of these for you to look at;

I hope you find this useful. I would suggest that you begin researching it yourself, in your own time and perhaps use websites like http://thereverthub.co.uk to read about others stories (including my own) as well as for basic factual info to get you started!

Hope this helps and you are guided.

Fatihah (fatihahjamhari) | 44 comments Abdullah Yusuf Ali is one of the most famous translations in modern day. I suggest go with his first as there are also commentaries to his translation.

I suggest read more on the scientific verses and how they hold water. I was born a Muslim and it is a privilege but still I had to work to understand the Quran and Islam on my own to fully understand why it is the religion for me.

Good luck J!

Muhammet | 5 comments Hello. There is no better way other than studying the religion totally. Once you make sure it is reasonable, you will subscribe to it.

On www.islamilink.com there are some great Muslim websites listed. It might help with your studies. I especially suggest; TEBYAN , Evident Truth , Islamic Sources , Inspirations , Message of Thaqalayn and lastly Islam Quest.

I hope you take it slow yet steady in your researches. Blessings my friend :)
