He nodded. "I'm sure. You're not." He said, although he was lying. His heart hurt, but he wasn't gonna tell her that.

She frowned looking up at him," Reese I know you better than that." She said softly," I know your lying to me."
He sighed and opened his eyes. "I don't want to upset you." He said to her honestly.
Noelle looked up at him," You won't upset me if your telling me the truth." She answered
"Fine. It hurts me sometimes." He said to her softly.
"It's okay. Don't worry about it." He said to her softly. He had put up a block in his mind to keep that from hurting him totally.
She sat up and turned to look at him," You keep saying that but it not going to help me not worry about it." She sighed," I just wish things could have been different."
"That's why I didn't want to tell you." He said to her softly. "I do too." He whispered.
"But I still would have made you tell me." She answered softly still looking at him," I wish you would have told me sooner, then maybe none of this would have happened.@
"I didn't want to, because jack was still around." He said, feeling bad now. This really was all his fault.
She frowned a little," I know, but I just wish I never talked to him." She laid back down against his side," Reese you know it's not your fault all this happened right?@
"I feel like it is." He said softly, looking away from her.
"But it's not." She said looking up to see him looking away from her. She frowned slightly and reached up to make him look at her
He looked down at her. "If I really told you how I felt, this never would've happened. Any of this." He said sadly.
She sighed a little," we don't know that.. It could have just sooner and not as drawn out."
"It still would've helped. I'm sorry." He said sadly, actually on the brink of tears.
She stared up at him, then wrapped both of her arms around his neck hugging him gently,"It's alright.. Please stop blaming yourself."
He wrapped his arms around her. "I'm so sorry... I'm so so sorry." He repeated over and over.
She hugged him tightly pressing her face into his neck," I know Reese." She whispered every once in a while.
He let a few tears fall out and just held her tightly.
She felt his tears hit her cheek and frowned a little pulling away just slightly to wipe them away
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be crying." He said quickly.
Noelle looked at him with her big green eyes and shook her head," You don't have to apologize for it."
"I'm a guy. I shouldn't be crying." He said softly to her.
Noelle shook her head a little," that doesn't matter to me."
He sighed softly and held her close. She might say it wasn't, but he knew it was his fault.
She held onto his shirt trying to think of a way to get herself to be able to tell him she loved him.
He just thought of ways he could've helped sooner, all of the possibilities being so easy, he could've saved her."
Se sighed softly and snuggled close to him. Noelle let her eyes drift closed and releasing her death grip on his shirt
He noticed she let go of her grip and smiled a little, kissing her forehead gently.
She smiled a little when she felt his lips on her head. In her sleep she said," Don't leave."
He looked at her and noticed she was sleeping. He smiled. "I won't." He murmured softly.
She smiled a little and relaxed into him. Though she was asleep she had heard him
He sighed softly and gently moved his fingers over her back.
She shivered a little snuggling into him and reaching for his shirt again
He smiled and let her have his shirt. When she was sleeping she was like a little kid. So adorable and innocent. But at the same time she was still herself, and he loved that.
She sighed holding his shirt tightly. She had figured out that if Reese was holding her while she slept she didn't have as many nightmares. Noelle felt better with him like she wasn't a broken and beaten girl. Josh walked into check on them. Mostly to see if Reese had left because it was getting late. He smiled gently at the sight of Noelle and Reese
Reese was still awake, but his eyes were just closed. He heard someone come in and saw Josh. "Oh, sir I can leave." He said to him quietly.
Josh shook his head a little," There's no need to wake her.. I know you won't hurt her and she trusts and loves you." He answered
He nodded. "Okay. But... She doesn't love me." He said to him quietly, a little sadness in his eyes.
Josh shook his head," Your just too close to her to see it, but she does love you."
"She can't tell me. I know she doesn't. She cares, but she doesn't love me." He said to him honestly.
"Just because she can't tell you she loves you doesn't mean she just only cares for you. Look at how the way she keeps close to you even in her sleep.... She's had a rough few months just give her time."
He looked at her. "You think so?" He asked softly, stroking her hair gently.
Josh nodded," I know It." He answered," I'll let your parents know where you are."
"Thank you. Wait, are you letting me stay the night?" He asked him.
